Purchased for daughters high school garage band. As a parent and ad hoc assigned sound-guy I was looking for performance they could grow into, value for dollar, and simple to use. Powered monitors, mains, and a simple board is the easiest setup. These are great for the price, with little higher end knowledge to compare it to. They hold their own with 600W Harbinger powered mains without any problems. The only negative I can pass along is to be careful of RFI with high powered or florescent lights. I get a little buzz with near ballasts and CFL lights. I don't know if this is common among all sound gear though. I get a little with my mains too, but not quite as loud as these monitors. Overall winners though.

Been wanting a monitor for sometime, being a drummer and backing vocals in a classic rock band. Saw this monitor for $120.00. And have used some of the original Kustom gear in the past thought i would give it a try. Picked it up yesterday. The compact size is good, doesn't take up too much space. Simple connections and controls. Volume level seems to be adequate for and indoor gig. But will it be good enough for outdoors? Will see. For the money it is OK. You get what you pay for.

Comments about Kustom PA KPM10 50W 10" 2-Way Powered Monitor:

We needed another monitor but our amp was rated at 4 ohms min and we are already driving two 8 ohm speakers plus a 16 ohm Hot Spot. I was hoping that this cheap powered monitor would fit the bill. It doesn't have the volume needed if you play in a moderately loud rock type band. If you are doing lower volume stuff it would probably work just fine and the price is right. Note that it won't work well if you just plug a mic in. It needs a line level input to deliver max volume. With another 50 Watts this would really be a great deal. Decided to buy a used Galaxy PA6S Hot Spot instead.

Comments about Kustom PA KPM10 50W 10" 2-Way Powered Monitor:

When I hooked this into my new system I was blown away with this little guy. It is a great monitor at 50W. I have it daisy chained to my main speaker and just run it at 40% or less power. Listening to the main and the monitor at the same time I can hear exactly how my voice is coming through the system. No more squealing mikes and tinny sounding monitors. Kustom® did good on this one.

Comments about Kustom PA KPM10 50W 10" 2-Way Powered Monitor:

This monitor was purchased for added sound quality for our karaoke company. The sound quality is great for this purpose. Several of our regular singers seem to like the enhancement to our system.

If you need a small monitor, buy this now!

    By Glen

Comments about Kustom PA KPM10 50W 10" 2-Way Powered Monitor:

I needed a monitor, so I bought this while on sale. I've been very happy with it. It does a great job for an inexpensive, low powered monitor. Like any other hardware, you need to treat it right and not yank on the input cord, etc. You won't find anything comparable for anywhere near the same price. If you are fussy and/or have an unlimited expense account, buy something more expensive.

    Great for Acoustic shows.

    By Benjamin

    from Shreveport, LA

Comments about Kustom PA KPM10 50W 10" 2-Way Powered Monitor:

The church I play with has two of the passive (unpowered) versions of these that we use for acoustic sets. We use IEM's for full band sets because these just don't have the power to keep up with the stage volume of a full band. So when I started doing acoustic sets around town, it was impractical to use my IEM rig, so I bought one of these. It serves its purpose very well. It gets plenty loud for small bars/clubs where I have a few acoustic instruments (acoustic guitars, piano, percussion, vocals) and the fact that it's powered means I don't have to worry about amp matching. It sound good. Not amazing, but for $120, you can't beat the sound you get. It's built okay, and I expect it will last awhile for me since I take really good care of all my gear. If you're throwing it in and out of trucks, don't expect it to last long.

    Good little workhorse

    By Robert Maxwell _

    from Worcester MA

Comments about Kustom PA KPM10 50W 10" 2-Way Powered Monitor:

I recently picked up a pair of these powered speakers and I like 'em a lot. I've been using them as my mains for some solo acoustic gigs. One of which was in a pretty good sized room and found that, for the money and with the 50 watt power rating, they are plenty loud and pretty clear. I have also used them as monitors for my bar band. That may have been asking a little much, but they did the job. If you push these speakers too hard, there is a break-up factor.

    Perfect Home Studio Monitor

    By David Inman

    from Independence,MO

Comments about Kustom PA KPM10 50W 10" 2-Way Powered Monitor:

This is an out of the box review. I just got home from GuitarCenter and unboxed them and plugged them in. I'm using them for my Yamaha PSR -S950 keyboard. The onboard twin 15w amps just aren't enough to bring out the beautiful tones of the keyboard. I looked at several possibilities but talking with the GC associates I came to the conclusion I really needed two seperate powered amps to get the stereo seperation the Yamaha needs to be fully appreciated. Plugged them in and they sound great. They have more than enough output power for my home studio so I'd imagine they'd do well in any smaller setting such as church or local open mike bar...I have the monitors set at about 3/4 and the Yamaha at 1/2 so there's still plenty of ways to go if I feel like going over the top. There's no hum and the sounds are crisp and well defined. I'd recommend a pair of these to anyone looking to achieve the same effect with their keyboard.
