Overview

Changing strings and adjusting the action of your guitar just got easier. The JP Guitar Tool, is an all-purpose tool for use with acoustic or electric guitars and bass guitars.

The JP Guitar Tool is built to last. The handle and housing for the tools is made with 300 series stainless steel that won't rust or dull over time. The screwdrivers and Allen wrenches are hardened steel so they won't strip out nor rust either. The Allen wrenches are compatible with most popular brands of guitars including Floyd Rose.

The string cuter is carbide steel and is so tough you can even cut bass guitar strings with it. It never needs sharpening. Carbide steel is the hardest steel and also the hardest man-made material, harder than stainless steel and titanium.

See and feel the quality of the JP Guitar Tool for yourself. The tailor-made grip makes the tool easy to use in your hand. There's a bridge pin puller for changing acoustic guitar strings that tucks inconspicuously into the handles. Included is a tough, durable nylon sheath, with a belt loop.

This is not a "Use once and throw out tool". It is the genuine article. As a player, you will use this tool for life. It's perfect for a quick string change and guitar setup.

Note: This was formerly known as Slip Farley's Deluxe Guitar Tool, so for the sake of the comments area below, they are referring to the former model.

Waste of money

By Jim Gilland

from OH

I've had this since Christmas, and it no longer can cut guitar strings after maybe 3 string changes. The screwdrivers and allen keys threaten to scratch a guitar by their placement with respect to the handles. I feel sorry for the person who got it for me as a gift.

Just get something different.

By Jolanta Dlugowska

from New Jersey

I bought this a while ago to cut down the amount of tools I would have to carry around and almost immediately went back to my old, separate tools. The cutter is dull and can't cut through anything thinner than 11 gauge (high E on my guitar, B on my bandmate's guitar) string. The tools in the handles couldn't have been positioned or mounted any worse, sometimes they just pop back into the handle when used. when I was putting Ernie Ball Superlocks on my guitar a while back and the screwdriver just snapped back into place when I was rotating the tool and the weird useless ring on the bottom of the handle made a nice dent in the body of my guitar. Even then the tool is incredibly awkward to handle and everything takes 10x as long as with traditional tools. Don't even try to adjust intonation on your saddles with this thing because its so large and cumbersome you just won't be able to. Overall everything about this was flawed. Good concept but terribly manufactured/designed.

Awkward

By ck

from Tempe, AZ

This multitool is great in that it provides a decent selection of tools for working on your guitar. It also feels solid and high quality. Unfortunately, aside from the string cutter, the tools are awkward to use, as they are attached to the tool itself. Making it even more awkward, the tool does not lock closed, with the arms close together and the string cutter closed. If it did, it would be more compact in your hand and easier to use. As it is, it adds to the awkwardness. It is tough tool with a lot of options. I probably would not buy it again or recommend it, however. Instead, I would opt for individual tools.

Works Once, Then Breaks

By Andrew

from Laguna Niguel, CA

This is an unreliable and extremely poorly crafted tool. Where can I start with the failure? 1) The String Cutter The string cutter worked for about three sets of string changes. Then the actual blades chipped so that part of the tool became worthless. 2) The Screwdrivers The screwdrivers don't slide out nicely like in a swiss army knife. They are held fast by another screw, and it's either too hard to unfasten or too loose while attempting to screw anything. Also, the jutting edges make it very uncomfortable for long unscrewing sessions like changing pickguards. 3) The Bridge Pin Puller This part is AOK. 4) The allen wrenches The smallest allen wrench is used for tightening the tremolo arm on my PRS, but because the entire tool is so large, you have to take off the allen keys unless you want to risk scratching your guitar (which is easy due to all the unrounded edges on this tool.) Also, there's not an allen wrench large enough to adjust the truss rod.

great handy little tool

By Mack

from Lodi, CA

very durable, well put together. it was slightly larger than i thought it would be but it's not too big at all. string cutter is very strong. also comes with a nice little pouch to protect it and your guitar if its sitting in your case. only suggestion i have would be to throw a string winder on there (if anyone can think of a way to do that without making it too bulky..) and maybe small-scale ruler markings along the edge for measuring action.

Good for On the go

By Dylan G

from Muncie, IN

This tool is heavy duty and crafted with function, not appearance in mind. In most situations I will use the tools laying around my house to work on my guitar...but when you travel this is very handy because it has everything you could practically need to adjust/repair your guitar. I havn't used it much but the tool seems very durable.

Farleys Guitar Tool

By Michael

from Texas

Pretty handy tool. String cutter works ok and the peg puller works good. Haven't used any of the other wrench or driver tips yet but this tool should do just about all you need to work on the guitars. Very handy.

Best Tool for Money

By Conner

from Redmond Washington

You cannot get any better than the JP Guitar Tool. Ive used mine, probably 50 times in the first week, and its outstanding. Although the JP Guitar Tool could use a couple more items (a small wrench, and better cutters) its perfect, nothing better.

Everything you need on the go

By Ryan33

from NJ

This little guitar tool will make your life so much easier. It has all of the right tools at the right size for our guitar. No matter what you have to do, whether it be adjust the truss rod, or fix your bridge, you can do it with this tool. Fits really well in your pocket or in a guitar case. I bring it everywhere I go with my guitar.
