bought this case for my ael acoustic electric, it was a little snug at first but it's definitely perfect for the body and understandable. protects my guitar extremely well. i fly quite a bit with my guitar and i definitely trust this case to protect my ibanez. the only thing i could complain about is the weight after a long period of time and the handle after a long period of time. but knowing that my guitar is protected makes up for all that.

I bought an Ibanez AEL 12 string a couple months ago, great guitar, terrific sound, I recommend it to anyone who wants a 12 string. With that aside, I've actually had two of the Ibanez cases for it, both had to be ordered. The first case arrived with a major crack in it, a bad hinge, and several frays in the covering. Ok, must be a fluke. Second case comes in with an even bigger crack, and even more flaws in the covering. On top of that, the wood is nearly paper thin, and flimsy. I would pay about $60 for a case of this quality. For this price, you're better off to go with the top of the line SKB Dreadnaught case for 40 bucks more. After the horrid experiences with the Ibanez's, I'm not surprised at all that the SKB is a better fit.

Below expectations

When I ordered this original Ibanez case I thought it would have a excellent finish but I found it inferior to other brands they had in store. A little bit disappointed. The guitar fits perfectly in the case though.

Disappointed with product

By Jack Porell

from N. Billierca, MA

Case is heavy duty, but cheaply made. Tolex wrap is rough cut and cut along edges rather than wrapped under an edge and neatly trimmed out. Carrying handle is positioned at an awful angle. Logo looks like it was spray-painted on 2 minutes before shipping. Inner lining is snug causing electronics controls to get hung up every time I put the guitar in. I have not returned this item because of the hassle of taking it to the local GC and ordering another sight unseen product. I ordered it through the store and it was shipped from a warehouse.

HushPuppy

By Harold Greene

from Raleigh, NC

Ordered this case for the AEL50 guitar. First one came in with a ding in the top; the box was not damaged, so the ding apparently was made prior to the case being boxed up. I sent it back. Second one came in with glue overrun on the outside and some glue drippings on the inside. But no dings. I could live with the glue drippings, so I accepted it. However, quality control appears to need improving at Ibanez. The guitar is a tight fit, but it does fit. You have to put the lower bout in first and then ease the rest of the guitar in.

Ibanez AEL case

By matt aebi

from Cumming, GA

High quality case! Very nice tolex, solid latches, handle seems to be good, although I haven't had to carry it too far at any one time, secure metal feet on case. As in other reviews, it is a bit snug, and I have to be careful the preamp does not pull the lining down as I put the guitar in, but the case is well made by TKL, and is definitely the way to go to protect your instrument! Do yourself a favor and get one!

Great case

By Kevin

from Waco, TX

I ordered this case after toting my EW50MPSENT around in a flimsy soft case, and it has been very welcome. There is plenty of space to put my capo, picks, tuner, and strap with no problem. The guitar fits snugly and feels very secure. Case seems sturdy and not likely to break. The only weird thing is that it smells like play-doh. I'm sure that would go away with some sort of air freshener or leaving it open for a long time, but it doesn't really bother me.

My new case

By Tony

from Farmington MN

It features plush padding and provides a snug fit for full protection of my latest guitar. I tend to travel a bit with them and cases that protect my guitars during transit is important. It was worth the hassel of a special order and the extra money I paid.

Fits Like a Glove

By trujoe3

from Fairfax, VA

I bought this case b/c I was tired of leaving my guitar on the floor or just hanging it up on the wall where I noticed dust and such collecting on hard to reach spots. Soo, I picked this badboy up to protect my Ibanez electric/acoustic AEL guitar. The case looks somewhat cheap/plastic on the outside with a sub-par (comfort-wise) handle (average for functionality) but inside, the fur lining and large compartments more than make up for the mis-leading outside. It is a very snug fit for my baby, but fits well and ensures nothing is moving around once you lock it up. If you have a nice strap you will need to take it off and fold it up b/c there will be no room for it on top/below or even to the sides of the guitar, you have to roll it up. I don't like the locking mechanisms on it (again look cheap) and the handle makes it somewhat weird to carry (could just be me though). But beyond those, I am satisfied with the buy. Protects my guitar from the outside muck between plays and makes it relatively simple to transport for on-the-go jams.
