Hal Leonard Guitar Book

It is easy to learn from. I am already pretty far in it, and I just started learning guitar. This book was suggested to me by some guitarists I know, and it worked for them too. If you're just starting out you should get this book.

Get this book

I am re-learning guitar having put it down for several years. OK, it is like riding a bicycle, but I needed a refresher on how to read music. I wanted this book as a reference to do so, and it has been great. I recommend to you if you are in my situation either re-learning or are a beginner guitarist. It is as if my prior lessons in my life are all coming back to me as I work through this book.

Hal Leonard Guitar Method Complete Edition

What a great learning tool. I'm just getting back to the guitar after 25 years and bought this book to learn more than just chords. Now I'm learning the actual notes of each string and learning to read music (something I hadn't done since grade school music). It's straightforward approach to teaching is great for a beginner like myself and I'm learning so much more than I'd ever known while playing years ago. I highly recommend this book.

Very nicely done

I've just started guitar and have found that this book is very effective at helping me learn to read the music. Tabs are all well and good but reading music gives one a better understanding of the "why" things work. I found the lessons well laid out and if you take your time it all flows along pretty well. I took a beginner group class and found this to be perfect for continuing progress.

Not for dumies

This book is not easy to understand for the beginer and the cds just have someone who is experienced playing the cords quickly and no verbal teaching. I would try another book if I had the chance
