Gibson

collapse expand iconDescription

Since he single-handedly blew the roof off the Sunset Strip with his iconic Guns N' Roses licks and took rock riffage to all-new heights worldwide with Snakepit, Velvet Revolver, and many side projects, Slash inspired Gibson USA that there'd be no better guitarist to get a signature guitar featuring their brand new finish Rosso Corsa (Racing Red) than the artist himself. The Slash Signature Rosso Corsa Les Paul is a mixture of classic Gibson LP specs accentuated with Slash-approved fine points and features, all covered by the gorgeous newly created, deep-red transparent finish in hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer.

Body
Deeply rooted in the tradition of the legendary LP Standard, the Slash Signature Rosso Corsa Les Paul features a similar tonewood combination, with a carved solid AAA figured maple top and a select mahogany back. Treated with Gibsons traditional weight relief, you get a guitar that is easy on the hands and gives you more resonance with added warmth and depth. The glued-in solid, quarter-sawn mahogany neck is has the fast 60s SlimTaper profile and is topped with a Grade-A rosewood fingerboard. It has 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays. Finally, the Slash Signature Rosso Corsa features vintage cream binding and Slash's distinctive tophat and cross bones graphic silkscreened on the headstock

Can you feel the electricity?
To get the exact tone from this beautiful beast, and extract all the great qualities of its wood, Slash had Seymour Duncan create Slash Signature humbuckers to his precise requirements. Inspired by the look of Gibson's PAF humbuckers of the late '50s, with genuine Alnico II magnets, Slash had them add a few extra turns of wire, like the natural curls in his hair, to give the neck a richer, throatier tone while leaving the bridge position to capture crunch and punch. Because he loves to be in control of his tone, but with plenty of room to explore, the Slash Signature Rosso Corsa gives you four control and a three-way selector switch. The tone pots even include œorange drop capacitors.

Hardware
Slash may skimp when it comes to shirts on stage, but when it comes to the little details, like a melody or tone, the man ain't kidding around. That's why his Rosso Corsa has a TonePros tune-o-matic bridge and lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece. Together, they'll help you achieve optimum sustain and on-the-money intonation during every performance. On the aesthetic side of things, there are vintage-style tuners that give the headstock that classic Gibson look. And since no Slash Signature should ever be used to just play ballads, the strap locks are designed and positioned to let you get your rock on without worrying about your guitar flying out of your hand as you're flying through a solo.

Case
Much like the guitar it protects, the plush-lined black Gibson USA hardshell case features Slash artwork silkscreened on it, telling anyone paying attention that you got an extra special axe to grind on, and you're about to rock their socks off.
