This guitar is awesome. This is the best sounding guitar I've ever played- it's also surprisingly light and the slim neck makes playing it easier.

First Gibson Acoustic

Comments about Gibson 2017 J-45 Custom Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am a long time Gibson electric player. Past Gibbies include a Les Paul, L6S, several ES-175s, a 125, and a 339. Was never drawn to their acoustics, in part because of their reputation for spotty quality the last few years. Decided to add a J-45 and absolutely loved the new 2017 Custom. While looks are subjective, I found the 2016 j-45 Custom had a bit too much bling for what I perceived to be a "blue collar" guitar. The 2017, on the other hand, had just the right appointments. Ordered online and was not disappointed-guitar was just about flawless. Fit and finish were superb and the action, though a bit high for my personal playing style, was great right out of the case.
Plugged in the tone is very different from the Martin Performing Artist series I usually gig with. I found the Gibson to have less separation between the notes. For me this meant strumming the guitar created a smoother, lusher bed for my vocals. The Martin cuts through the mix better and, to me, has a better overall tone (thanks to the Fishman Aura system) but the Gibson really provides a better background for the singer/songwriter stuff. Plus, the vibe of the guitar is so cool.

Comments about Gibson 2017 J-45 Custom Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

All I can say is WOW in regards to this guitar! I played many others in the guitar store that day and kept coming back to this one. The sound of the Rosewood that you get with the Custom is just amazing. Not a huge fan of gold tuners but hey are growing on me. Wish the lower strap pin was gold. A few things that I wish were different is the inlay in the bridge is so so and I wish the pick guard was one of the fancier shaped not just the simple teardrop...
