Overview

The J-45 is Gibson's best-selling acoustic of all time. Nicknamed œThe Workhorse and first introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of its round-shoulder, dreadnought line. World-renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass and excellent projection, the 2016 J-45 has been refined to carry this legacy to new heights.

Other features on this upgraded version include a 2016 engraved truss rod cover, improved feel thanks to the softened fingerboard edge which makes it a more comfortable fit in the contour your hand, L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup for ultimate plug-and-play ease, an enhanced finish thanks to finer grit sandpaper and polishing compounds used on its high gloss finish, and smoother hand rubbed and oiled fingerboard and bridges which will make them last longer and maximizes the wood's natural vibrancy.

Comments about Gibson 2016 J-45 Standard Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I finally made my dream come true and bought one of these last weekend. The sound is phenomenal!!! Warm rich bass, balanced midtones, and clear treble; it all adds up to a seriously rich and smooth tone. That legendary sound that's made the J45 so iconic will become apparent when you start playing it. Very simple in cosmetics, but then again, simplicity is beauty. The vintage sunburst high gloss finish looks as amazing as the guitar sounds. The electronics are great, and makes the guitar sound great when plugged in. The case that comes along is pretty solid. I understand this guitar does not come cheap. But it is worth every dollar. I know I will be enjoying this guitar for years to come!

Comments about Gibson 2016 J-45 Standard Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

i hope this is the place for this review. hello, i live in california. i recently purchased a used gibson j45 through the guitar center(online) near west virginia. the guitar was a few years old. i have to admit that buying any guitar without first playing it made me very nervous. plus, i had never played a j45, but i wanted one. adam helped me quite a bit over the phone and sent me pictures of the guitar i was looking at. long story short, this j45 is a excellent guitar, it feels comfortable , sounds great and i am very happy i bought it. i have a taylor. two martins and one takamine and i like them all but this j45 is tops or at least equal. if something were to happen to this j45, i would run right out and buy another. awhile back i played a hummingbird pro, but i like the j45 much better. sounds great and is comfortable to play. the price is right - get one. thanks adam at G C.
