Based around the 1942 Gibson SJ (Southern Jumbo) made famous by great artists from Hank Williams, to Woody Guthrie, and Chris Kristofferson, this very special Gibson Southern Jumbo True Vintage Banner will be limited to a total of 33 guitars for all of North America.

True to the original, this Gibson SJ features an Adirondack Spruce (Red Spruce) top with special early 1940s vintage bracing attached with Hide Glue, solid genuine mahogany back, sides, and neck, a special hand-applied age/toned nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Gibson famous Vintage Sunburst, and a Banner headstock ala 1942.

The rich, full, balanced tone is enhanced by a traditional Compound Dovetail neck joint, also held together with Hide Glue. Hide Glue is the choice of luthiers since before the 1600s and although more time consuming and difficult to work with, enhances the transference od resonant frequencies from one piece of wood to another due to the invisible nature of the fully cured Hide Glue compared to modern aliphatic resins and other more common bonding agents.

Comes in a plush lined Gibson Hardshell case with a Limited Lifetime Warranty
