The Songwriter design couples the narrower shoulder of the Gibson Jumbo series (J-45, SJ, etc.), to a full size lower bout and square shoulders. The solid Sitka spruce top is supported by scalloped spruce bracing using the Advanced X bracing pattern from Gibsons mid 1930s Advanced Jumbo.

The solid genuine mahogany neck attaches to the solid rosewood back and side body using the traditional Compound Dovetail neck joint and old world Hide Glue. A fresh Custom 6 Pin Bridge simplifies string changes. This very balanced sounding 25-½" scale guitar may be the best sounding 12-string that Gibson has ever made. Amplified by the L.R. Baggs Element pickup system, this is one of only 30 units available for all of North America.
