Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Platform:

It's great fo an 18" bass, allows the beater to strike in the middle of the head. It's easy on and off. Excellent!

Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Platform:

I have several drum kits to choose from, but for small gigs and quick setups I use a little Tama kit with an 18 in kick drum. It's fast and easy to set up, but always felt like I was playing on a kiddie set with everything setting so low. Raising the tom arms made them more reachable, but just always looked kinda "funny" to me. I did a sit in gig for a friend who used a kit with 18 inch kick and he was using one of these. I loved it. I had seen them before but just never thought much about ordering one. Sure glad I did. Not only did it get the kick up off the ground and enable me to extend the shaft on my beater and get that sweet spot on the head, it really opened up the sound of the drum. It also looks pretty cool. If you want to hide the fact that the kick sits a good 2 plus inches off the floor, get some fabric, make a small skirt like you would put on a drum riser and viola, you have an easy fix. If you have a smaller kick drum or maybe a junior set that your young drummer is outgrowing, get one of these lifts and breath a little new life into it.

Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Platform:

I bought this to avoid ruining my bass drum hoop. I hook it up once then i clamp my bass pedal on it so i don't have to worry about scratching my hoop. I have a 20" dw so i had to buy bass drum claw hooks to h lift my bass drum. The stock bass spurs were too short to compensate the additional 2" given by this riser. My only concern is that my pedal may hit the hoop. I think i need a special bass hoop where the pedal chain won't hit the hoop. Other than that, this is perfect. Strong steel construction and looks professional. Good buy!

Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Platform:

Great platform for the smaller bass drum....with down sized bass drums and kits becoming popular, it's a good platform for the money! Only down side really is, if the bass drum lugs are closer in spacing, you may need to slide one over a little to get the platform into place.

Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Platform:

I bought the Ludwig Break Beats Kit and love it for small gigs & rehearsal but the bass drum riser broke off where it clips onto the bass drum hoop. Very thin metal there, bad design. Called Ludwig & since the drums were out of warranty they couldn't do anything. I would have to order the part from Guitar Center. As we were talking the rep let it slip that Gibraltar had one that was beefier. I decided to give it a try and am glad I did. Much stronger metal where it counts & haven't had any problems with it slipping out of place so far.

Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Platform:

We built a rolling drum set for my high school. Everything but the hihat, bass pedal, and throne are attached, and it is great for quick setup/tear down at jazz and show choir competitions. This Gibraltar part allows us to adapt a standard pedal for use with the bass drum (Pearl 20"), that is elevated about 3 inches from the floor when in playing position. The Gibraltar adapter is awesome for use with this.

          AWESOME PRODUCT! enhanced my sound!

Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Platform:

I have a 20" maple shelled bass drum. the 20" maple drum sounded awesome. I then had to stage my kit behind a 3' high banister wall to save space on the stage. It killed my bass drum resonance completely. I purchased this product with hopes I would get a little sustain resonance back for getting the shell off the floor so it could vibrate. IT MADE THE DRUM SOUND COME ALIVE!!! I would have paid $100 for this if I knew it would have worked. worth every penny!
