Different from what I expected

Comments about Gator Deluxe Speaker Stand Bag:

There is no shoulder strap or any normally hooked places to attach one, enlarge the pix, it's false advertising or bad copy. Seems like a reasonable nylon quality and decent protection from the dual zippered compartments for each speaker stand, and should last for a few years or more, but not necessarily so for a full time pro, just occasional gigs, 20 or so a year. I got the longer 57.5 inches version, so I would not have to completely collapse the top of the stand and could leave the pin in and collar tightened to an average height on my 150 lbs. weight bearing Proline stands for the speaker I put on top (35-55 lbs. for the speaker itself, but the stand capacity is 150), and thus only have to deal with the tripod bottom part of the stand I put in the bag. However, any rigidity in keeping the bag straight comes from the stand itself, the bag came folded in a small box and is very flexible. There is not a built in rigid bottom like the Onstage stand bags I use for mic stands and find of a higher quality overall (other than the zipper pulls will break, a rememedy is to use a waxed shoelaces tied on to grab). But, this Gator seems like it will do the job okay for my semi-pro needs. Hopefully, one day Onstage will offer a longer, dual compartment one like this, with its characteristic rigid shape and bottom, and I would pay the extra $20 or so bucks, and retire this one, maybe just for moving domestically every so many years, not gigs, ha. But for now your options in these dual compartment bags appear to be limited at an economical price. E.g., I had to order this, could not see it in the GC store to know what was really coming, i.e., there is no strap and no rigid bottom or shape to the bag. Will suffice for now, I would rather just not have the stands clunking into each other while being transported in the car. I figure I will just not put anything too heavy on the bag itself in transport or would put it on top of something heavier duty if I have to stack something while hauling other gear, etc. Overall the Onstage bags seem a little heavier dutier, but I like the dual comparment aspect of this bag for my purposes.
