Overview

With its light weight and low profile, the G7th Newport Lightweight Capo allows for fast, accurate capoing with fine tune adjustment - in position - on the fretboard of your instrument.

An advancement on existing designs, the Newport's refined adjustment means that only the right amount of pressure needs be applied to clamp the strings - dramatically improving tuning problems and without the loss of sustain associated with the thick rubber of other capos.

Its classic G7th styling will also look great on your guitar.

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:

3 great things about this capo. 1, it is small & unobtrusive so that it doesn't interfere with my playing. 2, no need to retune when applying this capo anywhere on the neck. 3, & most important to me, it holds the sustain very well. When using this capo it's almost as if I'm playing open strings, the sustain is that good. No deadening or dampening of the sound. Great product & worth the price!

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:

This is an excellent capo. I've been using a Dunlop for years & never realized how much the thick rubber was taking away from the sound until I bought this capo. The G7th holds the strings in tune very well, & I havn't noticed any loss of sustain or harmonics. The sustain is so well, that using this capo anywhere on the necks sounds like playing open strings. It is also unobtrusive, so it doesn't interfere with my playing at all. I am very pleased with this & would recommend it to anyone.

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:

I've tried several capos over the years and I like this one the best so far. I notice that I have better control over the tension it exerts upon the smaller strings, thereby keeping them from going too sharp. I have found that it works best on my guitar if I insert it over the guitar neck from the bottom of the neck with the capo's opening pointing upwards. This seems to allow the G7th Newport's adjustable tension knob to favor its pinch force over the E,B & G small strings, which, as you know, are the strings more prone to going sharp when using a capo. Something else that is helpful when using capos (I saw this in a video once) is to position capos nearer to the frets instead of in the middle between the frets. Positioning a capo a little closer to the fret (but not too close) seems to cause a more equalized pressure over the six strings before they touch the fret.

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:

It is easy to use and if applied correctly you will never have to retune . it is light weight and small and works. You have to use it for awhile before you figure out the best way to apply it. They also replaced the capo for a strange defect it would no longer tighten down, but they gave me no problem and sent me a new one I also kept the old one I want to try and figure out what went wrong but they do stand behind their product and that is priceless. I use nothing else but this one now. The newport is a great capo . It came from the UK and that is a long distance . No shipping charges for me .

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:

The design is beautiful and the engineering is flawless. It is basically a sleek version of the Shubb lever-action capo with two key advantages: the knurled knob that adjusts the tension can be turned even when the capo is closed, and the clamping tension need not be changed as the capo moves up the neck. My only complaint is that the capo is wider than it needs to be for a standard-width steel-string neck. When the capo is perfectly centered on the neck, the open end extends just a bit further beyond the neck than would be ideal for comfort.

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:

This G7th capo is great improvement over other capo designs. It is so compact it doesn't stick out all over the guitar neck when you use it like those spring loaded clothes pin like capos.

When you're not using it, you can keep it in your shirt pocket and not have to worry about it pinching you on the nipple either!

A Capo that actually keeps the guitar in tune

              By Derick Cordoba

              from Urbana, IL

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:

I normally dread when I see someone pull out a capo because I know that was comes next is an out of tune guitar for the next tune. Recently I had a musical theatre gig which needed a capo. Normally I just do these songs without it anyway but this one had chords that were impossible without it. So I asked for some recommendations on capos from other guitarists. The G7 came up most and I am surprised and relieved that it doesn't negatively affect the tuning and when it does its a quick fix to adjust it. The small profile also stays out of the way even on very close fingerings to it. Highly recommended!
