G&L

The first G&L instruments were based on innovations to classic Fender instruments. G&L put its own spin on instrument design, incorporating Leo's artistic vision and engineering wizardry. Over time, the G&L name built a solid reputation as hot-rod instruments with modern innovations, becoming the top choice of countless musicians and collectors.

After Leo Fender's death in 1991, Fender's wife Phyllis passed the management on to John C. McLaren of BBE Sound, while remaining an Honorary Chairperson. To this day, G&L engineers keep Leo Fender's legacy in mind when it comes to changing instrument design. "Leo Fender was a symbol of change and evolution for the benefit of musicians. But for any change that is considered, we must first ask ourselves, 'Would Leo have wanted it this way?' If yes, then we do it. If not, then we will not.
