Up until now, I used the tinny electronics in my 6-string acoustic guitar, then the Neo-D single coil, along with my Boss pedals. Then I decided to give the Neo-D02 a try, and I've never heard my guitar sound better. Tasty, crisp, big booming sound. My 6-string now serves as a worthy companion to my 12-string (which I use with my original Neo-D) instead of a wannabe. It is, of course, a bit bigger and heavier than the single-coil version, and it feels a little unwieldy at first when you're installing it, but it is well worth it.

I REALLY wanted to like this pick-up. I was excited when I got it... but in an A/B comparison to the built-in under saddle transducer it really was no better than the UST. It doesn't pick up any of the body or top sound, just the strings. Not terrible, but really not an improvement over what I had.

Really Great Product

By grant castle

from Wilton, CT

I have several acoustics with built in electronics. Taylor, Martin and a few others with high end Fishman and Duncan pickups. This is the equal if not better. Great tone across all the strings, and it is removable to put on my other guitars when I want. I can live with the wire coming out the sound hole. Very satisfied. No hum and no feedback at moderate levels.

Unfortunately chord does not fit thru the peg hole on Martins, but my D41 and DM12 sound clear bright and crisp.

Way better than I anticipated!

By Dave Bartlett

from Indianapolis, In

I have an 82 Alvarez thin body acoustic that I love to play but never have used at a gig because I didn't want to have to mic it and irritate sound guys. I picked this up and installed it in a minute, restrung the guitar with Elixirs and fired it up. I am shocked at how clean and beautiful the guitar sounds. I've only plugged it into a tiny practice amp and tonight I'll plug it into my big acoustic amp and really let loose. So happy I bought this thing - no buzz, no hiss, no squeal - just beautiful true tones from my guitar so far. Highly recommend!

AWESOME...but...

By Lisa Deaton

from Huntsville, AR

After reading alot of reviews, I decided the Fishman Neo-D02 was the way to go. Installation was super easy, really great design. When I plugged it in I was amazed how great it sounded. Great volume, rich tone, no hum, smooth. Very impressive!! Unfortunately after about 30 minutes of loving it....no sound. Apparently it had loose or disconnected wires in the jack (where it plugs into the amp) when I would move it around, it would static and try to come on. I tried it on two different amps..same result. Went back to replace it and they were out. Unfortunately had to have one for that weekend and couldn't wait till they got more in. Really dissapointed because it sounded so great. Had to get a Dean Markley brand (humbucker), which might have sounded great if I hadn't heard the Fishman first. Anyway, the good folks at Guitar Center said I could bring it back in and trade back up to the Fishman when they get more in. I highly recommend the Fishman.

By Ryan Noss

It has an amazing sound, pure rich and no background noise! i use to use a "Dean Markley Pro Mag SC-1 Acoustic Pickup" and i hated it. this is a step in the right direction!

WONDERFUL! Installed this permanently in a Yamahe FG730S

By Dennis Snyder

from Vancouver, WA

I had a professional luthier mount this permanently on my Yamaha FG730S. It sounded so great that I preferred not to have the cord dangling out the front. I had a luthier install an input at the bottom of my guitar and solder the wire from the pickup directly. This eliminated the cord dangling out the front. What an imrovement to an already great guitar.

Oh Yeah

By Xavier

from Indianapolis Indiana

Well - number one this pickup makes absolutely no noise, no hum no buzz.. and my 30 year old Yari which sounds as good as anything I have ever played [well except for that one Lowden] sounds just like an acoustic guitar [not an amplified one] with this pickup. I am very much pleased with this purchase! Thanks Guitar Center!

Passive Humbucker

By Tommy

from Memphis, TN

My sister bought me this for Christmas this year. Best present I received by far. I use it in my Martin D16GT and have played through both Marshall and Fender amps with great results. As far as sound hole passive pick ups go you can't go wrong with this great little Fishman Neo-D02 Humbucker.

Tasty Sound!

By Ken

Up until now, I used the tinny electronics in my 6-string acoustic guitar, then the Neo-D single coil, along with my Boss pedals. Then I decided to give the Neo-D02 a try, and I've never heard my guitar sound better. Tasty, crisp, big booming sound. My 6-string now serves as a worthy companion to my 12-string (which I use with my original Neo-D) instead of a wannabe.
