  • Amazing Pro. Amp

As reviewed by Martin Matheny on 11/4/2010

Received two of these minis yesterday and put one to work last evening at our Wed. night church service. Had a guest speaker and a singer who didn't bring any gear. I let her use my Martin 000CSE that is my stage guitar and she got to be the first one to use the Mini. We had around 80 people there in a medium size venue. Her only request is she wanted to be loud. (We have a full size P.A. system in the church), but I thought that this would be a good place to check out my new amp. It blew us away. Had the master set at about 2 o"clock and the guitar and mic channels at around 3 or 4. Crystal clear sound, rich and full! Amazing! My wife was sitting there asking, "Is that your new amp?" It sounds great! Me and my two partners play churchs and we also play "Cowboy music and do poetry. A lot of times we play smaller venues and also house parties and these amps fit the bill perfectly. At under 20 LB and $$$ they don't break the bank or your back. I knew the first time I played one at GC that they would be a big part of our shows. I will use mine as a monitor running direct to the board when we play the big places. Check it out singers and pickers you'll be amazed.

  • Good for electric too!

As reviewed by The Payment on 12/18/2010

This amp is marketed as an acoustic amp but if you like a clean tight sound for your electric, in a portable unit, this amp works great. I play a USA tele through it and I get a bright, ringing tone that other musicians have complimented. I love the simplicity and portability of this amp. For a big room/loud band scenario you'll need to mic it though a PA but I recently played a large hall with high ceilings and about 150 people and had no problem being heard. I find the complexity of the do-it-all modelling amps to render them useless for gigging. This amp has very nice digital reverb and a reasonable chorus. That's all I need 95% of the time. The biggest bonus is the small size and portability of the unit. I can carry my axe and amp at the same time without straining myself. Get this amp. It will become your "go to" unit. One last thought...I wish they made a custom cover for it.

  • A true representation of your acoustic guitar

As reviewed by BobV on 5/10/2011

I went to GC and played my Taylor through this amp and the Acoustic 30W. I set both amps the same. The difference is night and day. The Fishman sounded so clear, crisp and clean where the Acoustic sounded warm but kind of muddy. You would have to tweak the Acoustic to get or hope to get the sound of your guitar. Not that it sounded bad, you may like the sound. With the Fishman if you wanted to get other than the sound of your guitar it would be hard but you would have to Radically change the settings. I use the Fishman for recording or to play in the yard with friends at BBQ's so I can't comment on using it on stage. All in all a great little amp, you cannot go wrong for the money.
