Snugs up the trem as well as one might expect from any spring. If you keep your bar in on a, more or less, permanent basis you may want to try tape, etc., but these springs work as intended. Personally, I rarely use the trem-bar (I keep the hole taped) preferring instead to use the heel of my hand or my finger tips. Still, I always manage to lose the originals and just like to keep 'em around. If your original spring worked well enough for you, these certainly will, too.

I have had my strats for decades, and I like to use the trem bar, BUT, on the Made In Mexico Strats, the springs slide right through the hole down into the body of the guitar, rendering the spring useless. On the MIA American strats, they catch and hold where you can turn the bar round and round until the spring starts working. In the Made in Mex Strats, there is no chance for the spring to work because there is no chance for the spring to do its stuff. I have read about this and some users suggest using a piece of plumber's Teflon tape in advance of placing the spring in the guitar trem hole, but that doesn't work either, if there is no place for the spring to be supported. the trem bar spring and the tape both slide through if there is no support point. Sounds like this needs a manufacturer retro fix of some kind.

Comments about Fender Tremolo Arm Tension Springs (12):

You put this in the hole that a Strat trem bar fits into.. prevents you from having to tighten the tremolo until it is stiff and near impossible to use. The only drawback is, that it was designed to work best with American standard strats. On many made in Mexico strats (MIM), the springs can fall straight right through the hole.. it may take pushing a bit of plumbers (teflon ) tape down the hole first, to prevent the spring from sliding right through the hole and out the other end, where it is guaranteed to do you no good.

According to reviews, it's clear that the springs 'work' with some guitars other than American made Strats but not others. This review is just to let you know that it works with mine.

Comments about Tremolo Arm Tension Springs (12):

These springs work just fine. I took off a star because it seems rather backward that Fender hasn't found a way to secure them except a sticker whose function is not obvious.

expected these springs to actually have some spring... instead they just fully compressed and stayed there.

Comments about Fender Tremolo Arm Tension Springs (12):

Somewhat stiff, can be difficult to break in. Otherwise though, a genuine Fender replacement part is a genuine Fender replacement part. They do their job perfectly and there are twelve of them. They also work well in other, non Fender guitars
