After watching the Song Remains the Same for the thousandth time I wanted a skinny leather like the one Jimmy Page used and after looking for one forever and only finding wide, super expensive straps I found this strap and it looks fantastic. Yes it is pretty long so if you want your guitar slung low this strap can perform, I have it slung so that the bridge is about at my waste and it worked fine but I cut the strap to make it a little shorter so that there isn't so much slack and it's great. If you're worried the strap will hurt your neck because it's thin, I never use the shoulder pad and I don't even really notice it and you'll be used to it after a day or so. I read the other reviews and was a little worried about it falling off at first but I haven't had any experience with the strap coming off and I move quite a bit while I play. Overall a great strap for a great price compared to the other ones I've seen.
I just got this strap for my birthday after wanting it for a while...and honstly, I was dissapointed with it. Its nice quality leather and it looks cool but it's just to long. I like to play wiht my guitar a little higher up and at its highest my guitar is a little higher than waist level. I"l probably just cut the end shorter and punch a new hole but I shouldn't need to.
Honestly when I ordered this strap, I wasn't all that worried about comfort. I liked it's vintage look, and it finishes up the look that my band goes for in our stage appearance. It turns out that it's not too bad comfort-wise after all. So don't be a sissy with your big wide padded straps, these look way cooler!
I just got my Fender Vintage strap today, and I can already tell this is the one I wanted. I have it hooked up to my Fender Strat, and it's plenty comfortable considering the thin shoulder pad. It's got a classic look, with a small buckle, and a thin strap...and I can tell the leather is gonna break in very nicely over time. I wouldn't recommend it for gigging with heavier guitars, but if u dig the vintage look...I'm sure this will work just fine for ya. I like it.
Although I like the looks of it, the strap does nothing for a guitarist that likes to play with his guitar up high. I had a leather crafter punch extra holes into it so i could play it up higher but the extra piece of leather was an eye sore. If you purchase this strap becareful when you gig with it, the end holes are big which can cause the guitar to fall off if your not careful, I almost dropped my guitar this way. Nice quality leather though.
I bought two of these straps to go with my vintage re-issue '62 Stratocaster and '51 Telecaster guitars. I'm a big old school fan so these were just the ticket for me.
Although I like it's looks, this strap is a pain in the neck. Because it's thin, it's constantly getting tangled up. You have to detach it from your guitar, straighten it out and put it back on, every time you put your guitar on. I should have got a cheap nylon strap instead. And it's not very comfortable at all.
