I bought this guitar based on the tone of the timber ( I used my ear against teh body unplugged ), it's appearance and play ability. It's Korean made with a straight thru neck and fixed bridge, thru the body string and dual humbickers with a single coil tap on the the tone control. There way switch for neck, bridge or both and jumbo frets. Body is light, arched top with a chamfered back. Positives: Pretty guitar that is light and playable. Greatest asset is the variety of tones it can produce that suit Jazz players to hard rock soloists. Excellent solo guitar, the tones are sharp and sustain is great very good. Fits a after market Tele case perfectly. No EM noise very clean. Negatives: Jumbo frets cause strings to bend with open play and create fret buzz on the low E On delivery, neck seems to be too flat and requires a little additional setup to remove fret buzz. Strap posts are weak and require better fixings. Too twangy with cheap 9's Output plug could be better quality Finish, mother of peral inlays were glued badly, excess glue. Pots are now scratchy after 2 years and three way switch is ordinary. Overall: All the negatives are easily remedied and I am now using Elixir 10's and the twang turned to a bling with zing. I run it with a RT2100 amp, and thru Digital effect via PC in my studio. Very versatile guitar that's relatively light, some say neck is heavy but for me that's becuase the body is light. Price was right, the sound quality very nice and versatility excellent Till death do us part.

this guitar is a great concept by Fender, but the electronics need rethinking guys, there is no way to blend the neck pickup with the bridge pickup which limits the tone options ,as for the craftsmanship the guitar is beautiful , mine is Amber , I've already ordered the parts to do the upgrades, pots and a bumble bee cap, the Seymore Ducans work well in this guitar , I have them in a 335s also....I like em.so they will remain in the guitar,I also have a strat I did the "blender circuit mod " to ...it don't cost nothing guys, and it makes guitars sound better, Gibson has been doing it for years through the volume controls on the pickups..I wish Fender would adopt this concept

Comments about Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH Electric Guitar:

Really nice guitar, Perfect finish, setup, intonation right out of the box. I lowered the neck pickup just a little to HOT for my tastes. Easy to play, stays in tune, the coil split is a great feature it gives so many more tonal options. Beautiful tone, Clean, Crunchy or really distorted.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH Electric Guitar:

This is the first time I bought a guitar without playing it first so this was a leap of faith for me. I'm glad I took the leap. This guitar might not be for everybody but I know it's for me. You can compare this guitar to like having a Gibson SG in a Fender body. Don't expect it to sound like a Fender. I wasn't too thrilled about the push/pull coil tap since it cuts the volume in half when you pull it out. I do have to say I can't stop playing this guitar, I've only had it 2 weeks and I have to change the strings already. I have 2 other guitars, a Fender Telecaster Cabronita and a PRS SE245, the Fender Special Edition Custom FMT is now my main guitar which I will use in my band, The Hallelujah Blues Band, you can check us out on the internet.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH Electric Guitar:

Overall good guitar from Fender/Cort. Made in Indonesia. The guitar has a very PRS look and feel. Set neck with a great carve to the body joint. Almost looks neck though. The rosewood fret-board is better looking than half of the MIM strats and telecasters that I ever see.

High output pickups with good low end. Actually this is causing some tube rattle in my 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb if the bass tone is too high. Great compression with a pedal. Coil tap is a cool feature, but does not turn this into a country/twang tele.

The two biggest flaws are the poor cosmetic quality of the nut and the design of the bridge/saddles. So far tuning has been fairly stable, so this might just be cosmetic on the nut. The bridge plate bend where the saddles attach is too small/low by 2 mm (compared to a normal tele) causing the saddles to slope up at an angle. This also causes the set screws to stick up past the saddles (by 2 mm!). Design flaw in my opinion.

Guitar will require a good set up after unboxing. There was significant back bow in the neck and slight issues with intonation. After I fixed the neck relief, the action was fairly good. Very low action is achievable with such a flat radius. Jumbo frets are larger that typical fender instruments. The frets seem fairly level. No buzz even with a < 2 mm action at 12 fret.

          A Wolfgang Telecaster...you bet.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH Electric Guitar:

Moi Bueno... This is a wonderful piece of musical art as well as a super sounding telecaster with various tonal abilities...it just depends on the player's level of expertise/experience. Workmanship is excellent; colors are beautiful (I chose the Crimson Red) and the Seymour Duncans with the Pearly Gates as well as the ability to go single coil, if desired, is just a big bonus. Flamed, carved & arched maple top, super hot Duncans, beautiful colors and binding, mahogany body/neck, great nut width: what more could Fender do for you. My good buddy Dave Williamstone has dubbed mine the Wolfgang Tele, after the American made Wolfgang with the binding, flame top, arch top and EVH super hot pick-ups. So get one while they last...a Wolfgang Tele for about $2700.00 less than Eddie's American guitar; you will not be disappointed, on the contrary, you will be thrilled. Oh, I forgot, smoked black quality chrome hardware with beautiful paint and nitrocellulose finish...with headstock matching the body color. It only weighs about 7 pounds...bonus. Keep on Groovin.' P.S. The guys at Guitar Center are great.

          Amazing.

          By Ben Rimbey

Comments about Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH Electric Guitar:

I bought mine used a few years ago now. I own the amber colored one with a rosewood fretboard. When I saw it at guitar center, I couldn't help but give it a try. So I plugged it in, and the tele really came alive. There's so many awesome features built right into the guitar. The Seymour Duncan double humbucker pickups have such a full beautiful sound. You have the choice to make it sound almost like a les paul. I think that's pretty awesome, but I do love the classic tele sound. Luckily they added a push/pull coil option onto the tone knob. This gives you the option to play through just a single pickup, like you would on a classic tele. The tele is very comfortable to play standing or sitting down. It has a nice cutout on the body like a strat would have, and it has a slight curve on the front of the body. This is different than most tele's, where they're more squared. The one thing I wish it had would be a thicker neck. I play a lot of acoustic guitar, and I'm used to a thicker neck. But the thinner neck is more comfortable for a lot of my friends, who love to fly up and down the neck. Overall I love this guitar, and I'll probably never get rid of it. Try one out, you'll love it!

a very different kind of tele

Comments about Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH Electric Guitar:

Ive always loved the shape of the telecaster, but i never had intended to buy one because i personally dont care for 9.5 inch fret board radius or the 2 single coil pickups. But this has a flatter fretboard that suits fast playing and high bends very well. It also has a pair of amazing semour duncan pickups that sound great for all styles. A set neck as apposed to a bolt on is a nice touch as well. I find this an all around awesome guitar that is extreamely versatile and also retains the classic tele looks(plus a nicer finish in my opinion). For this price it is a great buy.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH Electric Guitar:

Had my FMT Tele about a week now and still cant stop playing it. the more i play it, the harder it is to find a flaw. it looks, sounds, and plays great. the coil tap and great fender humbuckers give great versatility in tone. the set mahogany neck and mahogany body give great sustain. my only complaint would be that you cant really get a tele sound out of it. which should be expected from a mahogany body guitar with dual humbuckers. more guitar than you pay for.

fender special edition custom telecaster FMT HH electric guitar

          By Bruno

          from Ma.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH Electric Guitar:

First, the guitar I bought had Fender pickups. I ordered muy grande humbucker and a tallboy humbucker pickups by Rio Grande. Let me say these Rio Grande pickups are way better than the SD or Fender pickups. The Rio Grande pickups are true singe coil when the humbucker is split. Also I had a custom made second coil tap splitter but in on the tone knob as well has coil tap splitter on the volume knob giving a total of 12 different companations sound is incredible. I use a traynor tube amp what a big sound and the neck is smooth and fast action. If you want a guitar with versatility pick this one up.
