Happy Camper
I was surprised at how small it was compared to my AC15. I wasn't sure if they shipped the right one! LOL. It's just a tight package. It's a good thing... Sturdy, it's lightweight and portable but packs a punch. It has a smooth increase in overdrive, nothing extreme like you might find with some other tube amps, like the Orange Tiny Terror. It takes quite a bit of volume to really get it to break up if you're using a single coil. From what I have discovered, it's a good pedal amp... the clean headroom is really clear and stays that way, probably double that of the AC15. Tonally, it packs a punch in the midrange. As for the treble, make sure you turn the amp to your desired volume and THEN set the treble where you want it. Chances are, if you set the treble while the amp volume is down and then you crank up the master to where you want it, your ears will quickly get exhausted from the amplitude of treble. Use the treble like salt, start small and add to taste. I've done several recordings so far. It sounds great recorded compared to my AC15, which had a tendency to sound muffled when overdriven. All in all, I'm a happy camper. I've owned the AC15CC1, VOX VT30, Spider IV 75, Peavey ValveKing 50 and the VOX AC4. This amp stands out from them all in a class of its own.

You Might Get A Dud...
I am giving this amp an overall rating of 2 stars because when it is working it is a fantastic little amp. However, I bought this amp from Guitar Center a year ago in hopes that it would be my main amp for playing music at my church a few times a week. I only used it only a handful of times before I had to take it to a shop to get it repaired. I never gigged with this amp or put it through hard use. However, within just 6 months of very light use it had a broken tube and needed to have the power supply replaced. The repair guy at the amp shop said that this was very common on the 3rd generation Blues Jr. Amps. He said the first generation was made in America and was fantastic. The second generation was made in Mexico and only had a few issues. This generation was also made in Mexico but he had seen many come through his shop with lots of issues. Pros: A decent sounding amp for the money. 100% tube amp sound with a "warm" button to fatten up the tone. Pretty loud, and not extremely heavy overall. Cons: Lots of quality issues. The tubes break easily, and the sometimes the amp won't turn on. At the time of writing this review the amp lost power again after being home from the shop for just a week. There are lots of quality issues with this amp that are not backed by Fender's warranty. Repairs get expensive! Overall: If you can find a 1st or 2nd generation it might be worth the money but I would not recommend getting this model. Save your money for a good made in USA amp that won't break down with only minor use.

The only way to get the "Fender tone" is by using a Fender amp. This little amp has a ton of power, a surprising amount of volume. I got it up to 4 in my house and it was LOUD. Also, it has true spring reverb, which is tons better than digital. For the price, you just can't get any better than this. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to make do with just one amplifier to do it all. I am convinced it cannot be done. You can't get Fender tones from a Marshall and you can't get Marshall tones from a Fender. If you want the Fender sound and can't afford the Twin, get this. You won't be disappointed.
