Originally intended for sophisticated jazz guitarists, the Jazzmaster was quickly embraced by musicians attracted to its left-of-center looks and fat sound. A direct descendent of the guitar that powered underground music from the late-‘60s to today, the American Professional Jazzmaster is ready to lend its unique sound to your playing.
The Jazzmaster’s introduction in 1958 marked the first time a rosewood fingerboard was used on a Fender instrument. Thanks to its effortless playing feel and ergonomic offset- waist body, the Jazzmaster has powered infinite musical genres, including surf rock, gospel, new wave and indie rock, among others.
Developed by longtime pickup guru Michael Frank, creator of the renowned Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster Pickups, the brand-new V-Mod Jazzmaster pickups kick out hot, vintage-inspired tone with plenty of punch and definition. Retain high end clarity when adjusting the volume controls, thanks to the new treble-bleed tone circuit.
The new modern “Deep C”-shaped neck profile feels just right in your hand while the narrow-tall frets make it easy to bend strings accurately and play perfectly intonated chords. The improved tremolo and bridge incorporate a screw-in arm and brass Mustang saddles that stabilize the strings while adding a touch of sonic zip to your tone.
The best of yesterday and today, the American Professional Jazzmaster is the latest form of electric inspiration from Fender. Step up and stake your claim to a legend. Includes hardshell case.

Comments about Fender American Professional Jazzmaster Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Guitar:
I really love this guitar. For reference, I've been playing for just under 20 years and my go-to has been a Gibson SG.
What really stands out to me is how great this guitar feels to play. The neck has a light finish that has a wood feel to it. The tall frets are also great for playing in general but especially bending. As far was the right hand, I love the Jazzmaster bridge, especially the flatter angle at which the strings meet the bridge compared with a tune-o-matic (which i also like). At some point I'll probably swap in a Mastery bridge for for the now the Mustang bridge that Fender put on these works well and feels good. I don't use the vibrato arm much in my playing but to the extent that I have the guitar has stayed in tune.
Somewhat surprisingly, this guitar has really good sustain, even compared to my (set neck, hard tail bridge) SG. You can really extend noted by leaning in with your fretting hand.
Sound wise, the pickups are pretty good. Again, I am used to playing humbuckers so there are times when I want a bit more boost from really overdriven tones but this guitar really excels at playing clean or slightly dirty tones. The sound is really clear and I feel like I can hear each individual string when I play a chord. I have been able to get solid overdrive sounds as well by turning up the gain more that I usually do.
In terms of the electronics, the thing that sold me was that Fender removed the rhythm circuit on the Am Pro line. I know some people think its not a Jazzmaster without it, but I have no use for it and prefer simplicity over some electronics and knobs that I won't use. I would not have put the pickup selector so close to the neck but it has not been a problem.
Finally, in terms of appearance, this is a beautiful guitar. The finish is a little darker and the pickguard is more off-white - almost light green, than pictures suggest.
