Champion 20 Guitar Combo Amp Black
Description
The Fender Champion 20 guitar combo amp delivers the legendary tone you expect from Fender in an ultra-affordable package. This 20W, 1x8" combo amp is ideal for practice and performance, with a range of classic Fender tones served up through a Fender Special Design speaker. The single-channel amp offers selectable voicings—from the iconic chime of Blackface to the grit of British and Metal tones—as well as built-in effects like reverb, delay, chorus and more. Now it's easier than ever to experience the Fender sound with the Champion 20.
A Universe of Tone at Your Fingertips
The Champion 20's single channel features four distinct amp voicings—Blackface, British, Metal and Tweed—to suit any musical style. Dial up the sparkling cleans of Blackface for country and blues or unleash the crushing gain of Metal for heavier rock styles. The British voicing delivers the midrange-focused overdrive synonymous with classic rock, while Jazz and Tweed round out the tonal palette with smokey warmth and vintage grit. With just the turn of a knob, you have a world of Fender tone at your command.
Essential Effects Onboard
The Champion 20 also provides a range of modulation and time-based effects to enhance your tone. Add shimmering warmth with the onboard reverb or spacious ambience of the delay. Chorus delivers a swirling, multi-dimensional effect, while tremolo varies the volume for a pulsating quality. There's even a rotary effect to emulate the spinning speakers of a Leslie cabinet. With these essential effects built right in, you can craft pro-level sounds without splurging on external pedals.
Road-Ready and User-Friendly
Weighing in at just 12lb., the Fender Champion 20 is ideal for gigging, practice or just jamming at home. Its durable enclosure and 8" Special Design speaker are built to withstand the rigors of transport and high-volume playing. Straightforward controls make it easy to dial in your perfect tone, even for beginners. When you're ready to unleash your creativity, the Champion 20 delivers legendary Fender tone and modern versatility—all in one compact, portable package.

Perfect bedroom amp
When you don't have a surplus of room in your living space there really is no need for much more amp than what the Champion 20 gives you. From my experience unless you play out with a group anything over 15 to 30 watts is just overkill and wasted. Even if you do play out, most bar bands I have seen lately barely have their high dollar amps ticking over and have let most of the job to sound reenforcement and pedals for distortion/overdrive. This amp gives you all the great tone that Fender has developed with the Mustang series without the programing and menu surfing (a big plus I feel). Controls are traditional so that your grandfather would know what to do with it and has a great set of effects to color whatever the song calls for. Construction seems pretty sturdy and you really can't go wrong with Fenders 5 year warranty. Knobs feel smooth to turn and quality pots seem to have been used. If you want two channels go for the 40 as there is no footswitch capability. I have not tried it with pedals but I'm sure those with experience could make it a good platform to do so. The only drawbacks I see are the Power On light is just a small LED rather than a jewel light (not a real big deal but would have finished off the Blackface look),and to my ear the volume changes a little with each amp selected (again not a big deal, just adjust the volume). I wish it was made in USA but it's not 1975 anymore. If Fender Corp. reads this I honestly believe that if these were made in the USA for $50 to $75 dollars more most musicians would gladly pay for that badge of honor. Have had about a week now and i am just as satisfied as when i first fired it up.

Great bang for the buck, as long as it works!
This amp has all you need for the price point...for a beginner, it's a mind-blower. But if it won't operate properly, all of that goes out the window. I purchased this model tonight and noticed that when I first powered it on, it crackled and hissed before I'd plugged anything into it. Thinking it'd resolve itself, I played for a few minutes after which I heard 4-5 loud pops and then total silence. To make matters worse, it's a 3-hour round trip for me to just return/exchange the thing. Major hassle. But a great sounding powerful little amp.

This is a solid practice amp for my kiddo who has played for only a year. I chose this amp because of the amp modulation and the built in effects with the hope that he could begin exploring different sounds and mimic the effects and tone of popular guitar parts he knows while doing so on a small budget. Perfect for the stage he's currently at.

I am new to electric guitar and was excited to play around with my new amp. I don't know enough to compare sound quality but I am pleased with the range of distortion provided. This amp allows me to make harsher rock-like sounds but also soft pop notes. Overall happy. #sweepstakes

I am senior who dabbled with the guitar when I was younger and due to busy work and responsibility I dropped it. Now I'm relearning it again.I had a small battery operated practice amp that died on me. I purchased the champion 20 at Guitar Center and it was a huge step up from what I had.The sound is really good for such a small amp and the effects selection and distortion are incredible. The old amp only had a dial for high gain and lever for distortion. This ones got a voice dial with many settings and a effects dial with over 10 settings and an FX level dial with 10 settings. The options are endless. It is one of best amps Ive ever owned.
