It's back-with the same warm tone, unique circuitry, and vintage-style features and looks.

The Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue 40W 1x12" Combo Amp rocks - and not just for the blues! In 1993 Fender released the Blues series amps to great success and acclaim. These modern versions of vintage Fender amps from the '50s improved those designs with channel switching and reverb, while retaining the vintage style and tone. When the series was updated, the extremely popular Hot Rod series was born and became a new standard in tube amplification. Now Fender has brought back the Blues designs to satisfy the increasing number of enthusiasts who continue to request the warm tone, unique circuitry and vintage-style features and look of the original versions.

The Blues Deluxe Reissue, a reinterpretation of the classic Deluxe amp with a tube complement of three 12AX7s and two 6L6s produces 40W of air-moving power through a 12" Eminence special-design speaker. It has Normal and Drive channels with independent Gain and Master for the Drive channel and a Bright switch for Normal channel. It also has an effects loop, reverb, presence, master volume, three-band EQ and Standby switch. Original Blues series styling includes a chrome control panel, vintage chicken head knobs, and, of course, genuine tweed covering.

  • Awesome Amp

As reviewed by Darren on 1/28/2010

I've had this amp now for 2 years and I'm still amazed at the tone every time I plug in. I've been playing guitar for about 10 years now and have had numerous amps but this is absolutely the best amp I've ever owned by far. The tone is amazing for blues and classic rock. I use an American telecaster through it and it mimics Keith Richards or early Eric Clapton perfectly. The built in Reverb on the amp is incredible also, far better than any reverb effect you could get from a pedal. It's also very loud for a 40 watt amp, easily loud enough for medium to large gigs. The only knock on it I can even find is you don't get much overdrive alone on the amp, so I wouldn't use this for heavy metal or anything, it's a blues/hard rock amp. As for the overdrive, I solved it by running an MXR GT-OD overdrive pedal and now it sounds incredible. If you like classic hard rock or blues, you have to get this amp, it has some of the best tone I've ever heard anywhere.

  • Great Tone, Plenty of Volume, minor issue...

As reviewed by sumpthincookin on 8/7/2009

I bought this amp from GC 10 years ago. It's been a great amp. It takes a few months to break in the speaker, they're a little harsh at first. It ages well and the tone gets better as long as you use decent tubes. Fender screwed up and used a linear taper pot on the master volume. It was either too loud or too soft. Blackie Pagano of Tubesville changed the pot for me and works as it should. Now I get great tones at any volume. Check the volume adjustments at GC before you buy and you'll be good to go. I have over 15 amps, and this is one of my top 3. Great tone, plenty loud, easy to carry, and it has longevity.

  • Best bang for your buck

As reviewed by Nathaniel Tuwaiq on 9/4/2012

I recently traded in my Orange Tiny Terror for this amp. Nothing against the Tiny Terror, but the tonal quality of this amp is superior to it in every way. I love the spring reverb unit too, which sounds much more organic than your standard pedal units will give you. Volume for this thing is a fickle beast, especially if you live in an apartment. I'm hoping that my neighbors like my licks, because this thing is loud enough to hear down the street! I played a club the other night and couldn't get past three on it, because I was making the whole place rattle. If you need more power than this, I'd probably just mike the amp anyway, unless you've got a dedicated road crew. Also, this is a dream to record with, as it'll dial into a range of tones from creamy clean to an over driven punch that likens to the Vox AC30 (though it is somewhat distinguishable from the AC30). Throw in an effects loop and this amp is capable of any sound that you want out of it (though the speaker is more vintage than hi-fi, so you'd want to change that out to get a better metal tone). I'm very impressed with this. It's the real deal for the price. What more is there to say!
