  This "limited run" offers the best Strat value I've seen in ages. (Rivals are the "Lite Ash Strat" with amazing Seymour Duncan pickups, and the closeout-priced VG Strat, which is now gone.) Priced even lower than other Mexican-built Strats, it offers goodies previously found only on U.S.-built copies: * Neck has 22 frets, not 21. * Pickups are bright and articulate Alnico, not dark ceramic. * Pickups are tapped in positions 2 and 4, so you get real Strat "quack." * And they're 4-wire pickups! So you can install your own coil tap, to also access traditional Strat single-coil sounds in positions 1, 3, and 5. Sounded great and played well in my test drive. Only downside is that the neck is gloss-finished, not satin. If this is a Guitar Center-designed exclusive, I hope GC will specify satin for the next batch.

• Amazing Strat

  I've had this guitar for about 3 months now, and this is by far the best guitar that i've played for the price. It has a beefier sound than most strats due to the humbuckers, but you can also get the normal strat sound with the 5-way selector. the only real issue i've had with it is that the neck starts to get a little bit sticky while playing but other than that, I rarely want to put it down once i start playing.

• Great sounding Strat

  I've had this guitar for a little over a month. It was set up nice, but I had to change the strings to .10 gauge, so a little adjustment was needed. Make no mistake this is a humbucker guitar. And in my opinion it sounds great. I have no desire to change the pickups. The neck pickup is jazzy and sweet, and the bridge pickup really lifted me off my seat especially on distortion. High output but the perfect combination of tone for me. The single coils are nice for funk type of riffs or country chicken picking but since they are split, output is reduced quite a bit. I play mostly classic rock and blues and this guitar fits me well. If you are a strat purist and prefer single coils this won't be your guitar. But if you love the strat feel(I purchased the sonic blue with maple fretboard) but want some humbucker spank with a two single coil options you'll love this guitar.
