The Evans Min-EMAD Tom and Snare Dampener attaches with Velcro dots to both the drum head and rim to control overtones by controlling head vibration. The dampener consists of a fabric bridge linking the resonant head with an inert metal counterhoop. Use of the Evans dampener produces a focused, unchoked tone. Attach close to the rim for minimal dampening; away from the rim for increased dampening.

I got these thinking that they would be great and I would get the sound I wanted. But they ouldn't stay on. So after a while i decided that they are not worth the money. And took them off. And replaced them with duct tape. (Which doesn't pop off)
If you're looking for something that can dampen your drums in many ways, this would be it. These dampeners are so versatile, it's hard not to get the dampening effect that you want. They're not permanent, so you can take them off temporarily, and you can also put one on both top and bottom heads for maximum dampening. So far, this is one of the best dampening products I've ever come across.
I have been drumming for around 20 years and tend to switch heads, cymbals, tuneing etc etc often depending on if I am live, in the studio, or just practice and depending on what type of music I am playing and I cant find a good use for these. They dont stay on well, they dont do anything for heavy heads and dont do much on light heads either. Use about anything other than these.
