Overview

Ernie Ball 2734 Cobalt Super Slinky Electric Bass Strings are round-wound for maximum clarity and serious punch. The Cobalt Series is clearly an improvement on its classic nickel-wound counterpart giving the player increased sustain, clarity and output. In addition, they resist sweat and moisture better and have unmatched flexibility when compared to other nickel wound strings. Cobalt is the most magnetically active string alloy on the planet and attracts the magnets in your pickups more than any other string.

"Ernie Ball Cobalt Bass Strings are the new standard! Bigger, better tone, sustain and volume. Finally a real innovation with strings." - Randy Jackson
"I can't believe how much low end I get out of Ernie Ball Cobalt Bass Strings. Also, the high end is super crisp, seemingly with more definition. Unbelievable." - Dave Larue

All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and the most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance and long life. Made in the USA.

Ernie Ball Bass Strings

By Tyler Wagner

from Somewhere

Okay. If you don't get your bass set up right with these strings, you're gonna be the guy that writes a one star review on an awesome product. If you set it up right, these strings are GREAT. I just picked these up at a GC today and got it set up by a luthier. They have a great metallic sound in the high end, and they can crank out the low end rumble we bassists love. I highly recommend them.

These Strings Suck!

By 2146769 2146769

from Phoenix Arizona

For years I have used Fender, Dadarrio, or Dean Markley bass strings. I normally do not use Ernie Ball strings. The quality always seemed to be cheap. Turns out I was correct. I was lured in by the Cobalt hype and so I forked over the money to try a pair of my first Ernie Ball strings. Within minutes of having the strings on my bass the A string broke. I was not even playing that aggresive to begin with. I am very dissapointed with the quality of these strings. Thus I will not ever buy another set of Ernie Ball strings again nor will I recommend these to anyone else.

Clear tone, not brittle

By tony James

from Hagerstown MD

I put these on my Stingray HH , Very good clear tone, the hi's and very focused and the bottom is nice and fat, the mids seem to be a little scooped, that could be good or bad depending on your preference. I've never been a big fan the Ernie Ball strings , I always thought they were just average nickle. But these are a big step up in tone. They feel good to the touch , don't seem like fret eaters. Feel wise I would put them close to D'addario Pro-steels. Sound wise close DR Hi-Beams with more cut but less punch.I good only give four stars because I've only had them on for 3 weeks to get close to 5 stars I need to get 4 months out of them to justify the price.
