For guitars with a 17" lower bout (SJ200, EJ200, Epiphone Broadway and Emperor Regent), dreadnaught cases won't do. This was my choice since it was cheaper than the other models (the Gibson case is almost twice as expensive). The current version has Epiphone spelled out, has two extra latches on the hinge side and seems to have more padding on the top. On the downside, it's a heavy case for those big guitars, the "new case" glue smell is strong for a few weeks, and though my Broadway is a good fit, it's not a perfect fit since the jumbo cases need a little more depth for the J200 bodies.
The lining on the case is absolutely luxurious. The exterior is sturdy and the lines are beautiful. I've seen plenty of hardshell cases, but this one is actually pleasant to look at. I can tell it'll take years of abuse, but will still look decent when perched against my wall. Recommended to all.
Not a 5 but a 4. My Ej-200 fits in it like a glove "Nice and snug" just the way it needs to be. Do not let anybody tell you different the Epiphone jumbo case is the only one worth spending money on. I have researched every other case company for this guitar and my results are that they are not of any higher quality just way, way over priced. A Gibson or Epiphone jumbo guitar does not belong in a gig bag. My only wish for this case is that it had a built in humidifier, but what can you expect for the price. I?m very pleased with this case. When I buy another jumbo for my collection I will buy this case again.
