Overview

Gauges 13-17-26-35-45-56.

Elixirs are the first major innovation in guitar strings in over forty years, and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play.

Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings are covered with an ultrathin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings.

      Polyweb vs. Nanoweb

      By Chris

Comments about Elixir Medium Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I've tried the Nanoweb and the Polyweb on my Blueridge and prefer the Polyweb. My guitar is naturally bright and the Nanowebs seemed to make it even brighter. The Polywebs seem to tame the jangle a bit and allow the deeper bass notes to shine through. The Polywebs seem to last longer since they have more coating, but the extra coating does take away from the natural feel unlike the Nanowebs. The Polywebs do give you less string noise in recording sessions which I like. All personal preference here, but that's my 2 cents.

Great Quality But Sound Could Be Better

      By Sophia

      from Clarksville, TN

Comments about Elixir Medium Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I loved the quality of these strings. The coating is nice and keeps the stings clean. However, I must say the sound you get with these strings is not quite as clear as the sound you get from non coated strings. Also, the medium size made finger picking difficult.

Comments about Elixir Medium Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:

There is 4 people in my family who play guitar we all choose Elixir. They have a great tone and a really long life, since there coated it is really easy to slide on these strings unlike martin strings; Dont get me wrong martin strings have great tone but a short life. Bottom line these are the best strings on the market.

Great example of "you get what you pay for".

      By Jeff Tucker

      from Toledo, OH

Comments about Elixir Medium Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:

There's a reason Taylor guitars come from the factory strung with Elixirs...they are quite simply the best sounding, and the highest quality, strings on the market. The "polyweb" construction does result in the strings lasting at least twice as long as regular strings (if not a little longer). An unexpected benefit, is that the coating provides some protection against fret wear...it's polyweb vs. the frets, as opposed to a metal string vs. the frets. When playing on island venues, I've also found that the coating prevents the corrosion that was occuring seemingly overnight, due to the unavoidable exposure to the elements (such as high humidity).

      Poor Man's Strings

      By Eric

      from Newnan GA

Comments about Elixir Medium Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I don't really have the money to buy a Martin Or Taylor. A buddy of mine told me about these strings, so I bought some-and I was blown away! They made my $100 Squier sound like a $1,000 Martin! And I have had them on it for almost a year now and they sound almost as good as the day I put them on. I'll never buy another string for my acoustic. Thanx, Elixir.

Comments about Elixir Medium Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I'm glad to see Elixir back on the shelf at GC. I get so much more for my money with the Poly Web strings. They just seem to last longer than any other string that I've tried. I love that bright, lively sound.
