This thing is incredible! It is very user friendly because the controls are simple and responsive. It allows you to produce crazy sounds that are also usable for a wide array of styles. Another great feature is the two outputs. They allow you change the sounds of the octaves individually and plug into different amps. This really is a great tool for the creative musician because there are endless possibilities with this and other effects, just experiment with what combinations work. Overall this is a great buy and perfect to explore a realm of new sounds and create some completely unique ones on your own.

Great for Bass Guitar Too

By DEAN THOMAS

from Lancaster, Pa

I used this pedal for 2 totally different performances the day after I bought. We have a contemporary worship band and our guitar player could not make it. Used this for a few uptempo and slower songs too, it really filled in nicely. Played with a classic rock band later that day, and they were amazed at the sound. I used it with the dry up the whole way to maintain the integrity of the sound of the bass, the sub octave at 1/4 and the up octave at 3/4. When I played certain slides and riffs everyone said it sounded like voices, It really "fattens up" the sound if you only have 1 guitar and they take a lead solo. Best pedal investment I have ever made. The ability to go up & down an octave at the same time it as great sound.

Amazing and Inspiring

By Dante

from San Jose, CA

This pedal is not for everyone. And, it forces you to play things differently. Strumming chords with it isn't what it's meant for, but adding some sweet fatness to riffs and leads is where it shines. It has basically three effects, a lower octave double, a higher octave double, and a blend of the lower and higher. I recommend this for those players that play a little outside of the box. I write a lot, and within the first 2 hours of playing with the POG, I had written several riffs. Sometimes, when a riff sounds a little too vanilla, this bad boy can breathe some life into it. My band members always say "ooh", "wow", "whoa", when I step on it and play something. Yes, you can make your guitar sound like an organ. And yes, you can make your guitar sound like a bass, but I think the best part of it is that you can make your guitar sound like something completely new and different.

One of the FUNNEST PEDALS to jam with.

By Blues

from Houston, Texas

Seriously this pedal is in a league of its own, you can achieve so many sounds... from organs to ukuleles, violins, violas, french horns... add a little reverse delay it sounds ever more REAL. But thats not even why i bought this pedal, i bought this to achieve that Hendrix octave/fuzz tone, with my Analog, Man Peppermint FUZZ and it surpasses my expectations everytime I use it.

Holy Grail

By Steve

from ct

This thing is amazing! I now have a bass player. I play an acoustic guitar through the POG; splitting off the "wet" signal to a separate channel on the mixer. The "dry" signal goes through my effects. I EQ the wet signal to be mostly bass and set the volume just below the main guitar channel. First thing I did was use a marker to make the line on each knob more evident. It's hard to see them unless you are real close. You can dial in a bass line or sound like a 12 string.

POG Holy Grail

By Steve

from Connecticut

The POG simply allows me to create a bass player in the way a vocal harmonizer adds another singer. I play acoustic guitar into the POG and split the "wet" signal to a separate channel on the mixer which I EQ for a bass and put the volume just under the main guitar in. The dry signal goes into my guitar effects (Zoom Acoustic Effects). I have been dreaming of something like this for some time hoping someone would invent a device that allows me to add a live bass line without the prerecorded, play along sound.

Really like it!

By dc

Excellent tracking and versatile sounds. Very simple to adjust. The only possible negative is that it gives a slightly synthesized sound to the guitar, i.e. it produces a sound that's a little "organish".

A+ for this one

By 2bursts

from Loveland, CO

So simple to use. Blend the dry signal with octave down, octave up, or use them each by themselves. Sweet organ sound, 12 string guitar or booming bass. I especially love the octave up for screamin' solos! Built like a tank, what a great pedal!!!

Crazy!!!

By sRvSteve

from Waukesha Wisconsin

This pedal rocks! For writing and recording your own songs it's outstanding. You can make your guitar soundlike a bass, a keyboard, or just get some awesome harmony's out of it. I won't be taking it off my pedal board for a long time!
