    I own a Big Muff also made by Electro-Harmonix. I am very impressed with that. This pedal on the other hand just doesn't sound as good. It's all preference, but I feel that it makes the amp sound "boxy" and the distortion sound isn't all that great. I feel that a good tube amp shouldn't need a pedal like this one. Although I love Electro-Harmoix, I don't feel that this pedal does a good enough job.

  • Exactly what I wanted...

    This pedal blows away any Distortion I have ever run through. In my attempts to emulate that signature JCM2000 warm OD I stumbled across this tank! Swapped out the 12AY7 in the second position for a Mesa Boogie 12AX7 made in Russia, and watch out. With the gain at about 12 o'clock, and the Bass a lil higher than 2 o'clock I'm pulling AC/DC sound at no problem. With the Gain at around 4 oclock I'm killin my Old TSL60 stack I used to own. Purchase one, you wont be let down!!!

    The Electro-Harmonix English Muff'n Overdrive Pedal is an awesome pedal. The sound created by it is amazing. I first tried the pedal out during a jam session with some friends. After the first note i played through it i was hooked on its amazing tone. Since then the pedal has become a staple on my pedal board and i use it for most of my set during live shows and recording time. I recommend this pedal to everyone, it is truely a must have pedal.
