This guitar is great. It has all the capibilities and sound of way more expensive guitars. Theyll seem way overpriced once you play this. Great hot esp/emp passive pickups that in my opinion are just as good if not better than the actives when played thru a quality amp. the actives are just louder in a way to me that i dont need anyways, the passives are too much sometimes if anything when in full coil mode. the floyd rose is good if u just set it and leave it alone, bc i hear a thousand complaints about it and its probly bc people wont quit messing and adjusting it. it works fine with no problems if u know what ur doing. and this thing is nice and solid and plays great. i love the single coil option when playing clean. great professional overall package for a player that wants professional specs and is ready to get more serious about playing and dosent want to spend thousands. ive played all the high dollar esp's and jacksons and so on, and they dont sound any better than this one if as good sometimes. it should be priced several hundred more if u ask me but this is really a steal if u ask anybody who knows guitars and has played this one.
I'm not going to write a long review so you can get an idea of what you will get with this guitar withouth blowing your eyes out. My 2nd guitar ( upgraded from a Strat copy :D) Great hardwares Decent Floyd Rose Special ( ESP brand) Great ESP pickups The thinnest neck I've ever tried (remember this is my opi.) Get it
i as a metal guitarist love this guitar ive always heard about esp but never got to play one once i did i saw what ive been missing. its got a great thin and fast neck which i love and its weighted perfectly so you dont wrestle with it while playing standing up the only down side are the pickups i like passive but they dont have enough bite but i recomend this guitar for any beginner or advanced player
I bought this guitar because i was after the kirk hammett sound without all the bucks. JUST SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT BUY THIS JUNK. I'm being honest, when i picked up the guitar in the store plugged into a line 6 then a fender, it was magic. Then when i went home a string broke. undid the locking nut. The nut broke. Sent it back 2 TIMES!! Same things happened. If you want a nice guitar with a floyd, go for a Dean, B.C Rich, Schecter, or Ibanez. BECAUSE THEY WORK.
First, cheers to esp. I've been playing for 6 years and i've owned and ibanez, sg, les paul (both gibson), and played several others. And, esp is the best in the bis! When you buy esp's your buying great quailty , and this guitar is no exception. The pick ups were alittle hot and out of balance for me, but blackouts fixed that. And for the body, the neck through design is amazing, MONSTER amount of gain, especailly for being being a floating bridge. The bridge is nice too, i can dive bomb for ever and still stays in tune. Beautiful guitar, can shred, sweep, and tap for hours with no problems.
When i first bought the guitar the action was to high (but not a biggy). After that i changed the pick ups, because i play heavy metal and the guitar needed actives (went with blackouts). After all of this it is an amazing guitar. The body and neck choose goes perfectly with active pick ups. And from the start the body and wood is top notch, very very comfortable to play, also a very strong guitar and agathis is GOOD WOOD! And with the neck you can shred and shred for hours. To me this is a lead guitar. The lows lack alittle but the highs are tight and silky smooth and the middles are good. If you play metal and are willing to but a little money in buy this guitar
This guitar is one of the best, but cheap, guitars on the market. The Floyd Rose stays in tune well once you stretch the strings and springs well. The pickups are O.K., but I will probably replace them in awhile. The neck is great! It is pretty thin and smooth. With distortion, it SCREAMS! Without, it sounds sparkling clean. It's like a guitar 2x-3x more money. I let my friend play it, and he said he was thinking about trading his Epiphone SG Custom for it. The coil tap is also really cool, especially on more chordal songs.
I got this guitar in black about 2 weeks ago and its pretty good. The neck is thru-body and is very thin for fast playing. The stock pick-ups are ESP and sounds decent. The floyd rose wasn't set up when it came( action was high, floating, slanted) , its not the best floyd rose ever but still. Only problem that are fixable so far were: volume knobs fell off, buzzing strings and frets. U should get this in black looks way better!
I bought this guitar and it was awesome, until I tried to change a string. I loosened the clamp at the nut and loosened the string and everything was good. Then when I tried to loosen the clamp that holds the string in place at the bridge, it wouldn't. I had to pull the string out and it looked stripped when I pulled it out so I took the thing off the see if I could try to fix it (that was probably a mistake but the string wouldn't go in). I couldn't see a problem so I tried to put it back on, and the screw stripped. Now I have no way to put the string back on. Other then the problem I had with the string, this is an awesome guitar (I had the Ibanez practice guitar before this so I couldn't get much worse). It has a nice neck the pickups are decent. Just be careful when you try to change a string on the licensed Floyd Rose.
