  • This guitar SINGS! (not recommended for Floyd Rose)

As reviewed by ANGEL CHACON on 9/12/2012

I ordered this guitar online and have had her for about a month now and I'm in love with the sound!! I'm a Thrash Metal player so I keep my axe in standard, however, whenever I use the Floyd Rose too much the strings easily go out of tune. It's a pain in the ass to get her in tune (no understatement here), but once she's in tune she'll stay in tune as long as you don't lift or lower the bar too much. The saddles are very comfortable, perfect for palm-muting. The flamed maple looks really good in the light, but normally looks black at a glance. The neck is nice, thin, and really comfortable. I'm in love with the maple fretboard, it makes leads really sing and is very clear when shredding lower notes! Single coils do hum, but using both single coils eliminates the hum and has a great neck-humbucker sound for both distorted leads and clean rhythms. The placement of the high E string is a little awkward at first because it's really close to the edge of the fretboard, but you should be used to it after about a week or so. If this is your first guitar with a Floyd Rose (such as my situation) DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE ALL THE STRINGS AT ONCE! I made the mistake of doing that and to my own ignorance wasted 25 bucks worth of strings and 20 in service. I recommend having someone with experience change your strings if you're switching to a different gauge. If you're interested in this guitar for the Floyd Rose, I recommend to look elsewhere for a guitar that isn't equipped with a Floyd Rose Special tremolo. If you're looking for outstanding playability, looks, price, and a guitar that really sings, look no further. Hope this helps, cheers!

  • Officially an ESP Guitar guy now for life!!

As reviewed by Jeff on 7/25/2011

As soon as I opened this piece of brilliance from the box I knew I had something epic in my hands. The neck was the first thing I noticed, its quite thick yet smooth and fast and reminds me of a stratocaster neck almost but with a design for metal music and shredding. The pickups are great and give tons of flexibility to whatever style it is you wanna play, especially lead wise as far as solos are concerned. The sustain is ridiculously awesome and jaw dropping. Everything about this guitar is very comfortable and affordable. I honestly don't know why I waited this long to by an ESP. This guitar is great for any player and I would definitively recommend this guitar for the aspiring or already proficient to advanced metal guitarist.

  • pleased for the price

As reviewed by joel on 5/27/2011

i got this guitar about 4 months ago, i was looking for a guitar with a floyd rose and i wanted it to look good and sound good too, and for the price you couldent get a better deal, i like to do alot of dive bombs and alot of harmonics and it gets the job done, the only bad thing is setting up the floyd rose witch that goes for all floyd roses on any guitar,so if u dont know what your doing with a floyd rose i advise you not to get one with it. the neck is smooth the body is smooth also, the clean sounds very good so does the destortion, like i said good guitar good price
