I just recently received this bass as a gift, and it automatically fit prefectly in my hands! The feel of it is so nice and the wood complements it big time. The action came set and the strings are amazing! The on-board EQ really gives you that tone that you are looking for and the active pickups gives you that extra "POW" to the bass. I've played Warwicks, Fenders, and Musicman 6-strings, but this one has got to be the best I've played! If you're coming up from a 5-string to this baby, it's actually not that hard of a transtition. Going back though is really awkward. I recommend this to all players who want a nice, quality, durable 6-string bass!
had this thing for a month now. first its so much more gorgeous in person than online pics. spalted maple on top of dark chrome hardware. it sounds amazing. ive played fender, squier and for the past three years been playing warwick so buying this was actually a step down price wise but i gotta go with this guitar makes me much happier. its got active pick ups, three tone knobs and volume. its so light from my experience. the frets are supposedly extra jumbo but im stepping up from a four string and have had no problem adjusting minus plucking bc there are more strings. also its light so your shoulder can handle it on there for long periods, i had it there for three hours straight w.o a break. its very balanced too so you can just play, you dont have to hold up the neck. very clean sound on the high strings and suprisingly heavy sound on the low. overall this thing is a steal. if you can get past guitar centers awful shipping services you will have an amazing instrument to play on
I've been a strict guitarist and teacher for 13 years - A switch to bass was my next step. For my birthday, my girlfriend bought me this bass. (Well, actually she handed me cash and said "I don't know what I'm doing, so go pick one out") - I figured, if I'm going to become a bass player, I want to go all out and get a 6 string, fancy, tonal monster. This bass delivers! Between the bass/mid/treble/volume/and EQ knobs, there are ENDLESS tonal possibilities, from the funkiest of high treble "slap" to the lowest of warm ballad groove, this bass does it all! I've jammed on MANY different basses across the 13 years as a strict guitar plater, but let me tell you, this bass plays like a dream. I tried it out at a Sam Ash in my area, and was shocked when I saw how low the sticker price was. I couldn't believe a $429 6 string bass played like it should have been priced at $800-$1,000. Seeing as I'm NOT a newbie at dealing with guitar store personnel, I was able to sweet talk my way down to $387.00+ tax. This CANNOT be beat! My bass was tuned a 1/2 step down in the store, so I had to take it home and tune it up, which took a few songs to set the tension at BEADGC without it going slightly out, but such is that for ANY guitar that you are freshly tuning. With a quick flick of the knobs, I was rockin' it, in every style. Highlt recommended!
