A Brick stamps out wall warts

Anyone who plays through stomp boxes and multi-effect pedals can relate with the "power struggle" that comes with the us of pedals. The Dunlop DC-Brick Power Supply has ended those tangled wall-warts and dead batteries for good. It can power up to (7) 9volt pedals, and (3) 18volt pedals. With only one standard electic plug, it clears all the clutter that comes with large adapters, and it will never drop out or lose power, even when all pedals are active. Each pedal connects to the DC-Brick via connection cables. The 9v and 18v sides have different style cables from each other to prevent cross connecting a pedal with and improper voltage. This eliminates any risk of accidental damage. The only downside of ths product is it only provides one set of connection cables, so if you lose any you'll have to buy a replacement. Other than that this power supply soars above the competition. It's solid metal casing covered by a textured outside makes it almost indestructible. Dunlop has been a company known for their high quality, and solid construction, and the DC-Brick keeps true to the Dunlop Standard.

Solid, but not universal

Does not appear to be compatible with PSA type Boss pedals like my GigaDelay - creates a distinct humm when plugged in, just as other adapters will do. Going to try to replace this with the Visual Sound adapter and see if the same problem exists... and if so I will have to resort to a seperate Boss PSA just for that unit. Also the 2 18V aren't so useful to me, but a 24v would have been nice for items like my Q-Tron.

This unit is small, sturdy and powers a lot of pedals at once. The power to the effects is quiet, i.e. no additional hiss or hum. The wall wart that powers the unit on the other hand, makes a high pitched whine, which changes pitch when you plug in a pedal, and when you turn the pedals on. Perhaps my wall wart is defective. The important part is, it is quiet where you need it to be. Comes with all the power cables you need for most single and double pedals.

Protect those valuable stomp pedals and power them up with the Dunlop DC Brick! It's reliable and just as the name says, tough as a brick! You might as well throw this at your angry boss or annoying co-worker if you couldn't find any bricks! The best part about this is that it can power your pedals and protect them in case of shorts. It shuts down automatically when power problems shows its ugly mug. Plug em all in again in a functioning power source and they're back to work! The only reason why I gave it four stars is coz for the price, you only get to power 7 9v pedals and 3 18v pedals. I just wished Dunlop made it to power 8-9 9v pedals since majority of the pedals out there are 9v worth...But overall, it's amazing. WARNING: Do Not submerge in Water while plugged to an electrical socket.

This is a pretty cool little piece of music equipment! I built my own pedal board and I bought one of these and a power supply and I was set to go! It is built very strong and I'm sure it will last for a very long time! I have had no problems in the past 8 months and I strongly recommend getting this!

I did some research and bought the brick. Lots of power ports, nice set of cables and it is extremely clean, My only complaint is the lack of a 12V output! I can live with this of course but it is the one feature I wish it had. A power switch would be nice as well. This little unit is well built and looks and feels like it is built to last. I recommend it to anyone, although it was not as easy to mount on my pedaltrain as others power supply's, I looked and felt that this is the best value for the price of any of the power supplies available. I am pleased with my purchase.

  • Five stars for five months

This thing worked great. Powered all my 9 volt pedals and my 2 Dunlop and 1 Fulltone 18 volt pedals. Fit nicely at the top of my pedal board. All I need to do at a gig is plug in my amp and the Brick.guitar in to first pedal and last pedal into the amp and I am ready. Takes all of about 5 minutes. Then after 5 months 2 of the 18 volt outputs on the Brick died. Contacted Dunlop service about getting a replacement. They said I had to mail it to their service dept(at my expense) and they would fix it and send it back. With shipping time they said it should take 3 weeks to get it back to me. Now I'm back to batteries for 3 weeks or maybe more. I'm very disappointed that a Dunlop product would only last 5 months. I've come to rely on this product and I miss it. Hopefully I can afford to buy a spare in the near future. Or better yet,a quality manufacturer will put out one that has both 9 and 18 volts that will last.

  • You only need one

At least I would hope you only need one. Many "bricks" out there only power nine volt, well I just picked up a 18V fulltone pedal, and guess what? I'm pretty glad I bought this particular power supply in hindsight. Build like a tank, a 700 lb man could step on this, it would break his foot. And it would be hard for him to miss with the freakin cool blue LED.. it makes your pedal board look like it's from outer space.
