  • Awesome techniques!

As reviewed by RANDY HAAS on 12/22/2012

These picks are amazing! They provide good grip. The tones you can get with these are great and pitch squeals come out with ease! Being made of carbon fiber is a plus cause they'll probably never break. Give em a shot you'll be happy you did!

  • Perfect picks for technical picking

As reviewed by David Munoz on 11/5/2012

The small size and light weight of these picks make them ideal for precise and aggressive playing. I play mostly metal. My main picks used to be the original jazz 3 picks. I thought they were the best and there was no way they could be improved. I was wrong, these carbon fiber picks with the grips blew my mind away. Once you lock your fingers onto this pick, they're not moving anywhere. There's a review mentioning how they slip when you sweat. Totally wrong. I tend to sweat like a pig and even after hours of playing they're still in my hand. I can't speak for the long term durability, but I've done projects with carbon fiber long enough to know that these will hold up for quite a long time. They do however feel very solid. No flex whatsoever. The combination of the small, versatile and agile size design, along with the almost indestructibility of carbon fiber, and the grips for comfortability and controllability these picks ideal for heavy rock. These will be the only picks I use from now on.

  • Amazing picks... until you start to sweat

As reviewed by Andrew on 8/31/2010

Under dry conditions these picks stay put like you wouldn't believe but as soon as your hands get damp they're worse. Given that I don't grip my pick any tighter than I need to I found the raised surface provides less surface contact with your fingers than a conventional pick. Therefore when sweat breaks up the little surface contact you do have they slide severely. Also if you try to use any one pick for more than a week or so grease from your skin will accumulate and permanently effect the grip. Washing them doesn't entirely take care of it. I will admit these are better than traditional jazz IIIs for me since they slide when my hands are dry. Right now I'm trying out the Ultex which seem to be an improvement thus far but I have yet to try them out long term. If the ultex alone isn't satisfactory I'll likely attempt to improvise a superior gripping surface on them using adhesive sand paper for instance. Ultimately I may end up coming back to these though since I've yet to find anything that's better for certain. It's worth noting that these picks weigh more than either traditional jazz IIIs or the Ultex Jazz IIIs. Also when the gloss is played off of the pick they seem to catch on the string more than either as well.
