  So today I walked into my local guitar center to check out some new items. I walked past a few 7 strings and passed this guitar thinking it was one of the cheaper ibanez 7 string models. It was not until after I walked by it I saw how interesting the guitar was. It was beautiful, sleek looking even. I decided to play it for about half an hour and saw that it was better than most of 8 string guitars that I have ever played. The neck was flat, reminding me of an ibanez neck. I do not own a 7 string or 8 string but enjoy playing one from time to time. I play a 27 inch scale 6 string so the scale was shockingly comfortable. It also did not wear out my hand from stretching like shecters cause me to. I liked it better than most schecters that I have picked up. Also I loved the tone of the pickups. The EMGs are evenly voiced and bring out a rich low end. They were so even that just rolling up the treble and mids a little, over powered the bass. The bass turned up more drowned out the rest. I liked this because you are not always at war with your pickups and your amp. Just turn up what you want more of. The harmonics are nice and they sound like an EMG (good in my opinion). They also articulate very well and they clean up nicely on the proper amp setting and the volume rolled down. It felt solid in my hands, I like neck thrus but I felt like it has a good quality build. It also has quality parts, ebony fretboard, grover tuners, hipshot bridge, EMGs. Compared to other guitars in this price range this is my favorite. My only gripes are the output jack, the color and the string spacing. The output jack is a strat style built into the side but it is pointing up towards the guitarists arm. I do not like having a cable coming up like that. I also wish there was another color, I love metal as much as the next guy but black should not be the only option on any guitar. Also the string spacing is too close together. I guess they may have to put them closer to fit the extra strings, but I had to change my stroke size a bit to adapt to them. It was annoying but it may prove useful for the adept shredder.The gripes are minor but if you would like an 8 string guitar with good quality, feel, and looks, choose this over the numerous shecters, ibanezs, and esps.
