Daisy Rock Beginner

DAISY ROCK MAKES ITS TODAY SHOW DEBUT

In a series of new segments, NBC’s "Today" hosts have an opportunity to show one another a bit about their favorite hobbies. Guitar Center couldn’t have been more excited to see our friends at Daisy Rock represented when a sparkle finish Pixie guitar appeared on the show in the hands of Natalie Morales.

Savannah Guthrie, in addition to being a broadcast anchor, is a self-taught guitarist who used her time to teach co-host Natalie Morales a few chords - enough to get through a song together in almost no time at all. The guitar of choice was the Daisy Rock Pixie, which features a slender profile neck on a lightweight, slightly smaller body.

A relative newcomer in the guitar business, Daisy Rock started in 2000 as the first company ever to design and market guitars to the female consumer. President Tish Ciravolo credits her oldest daughter Nicole for inspiring her to create Daisy Rock. When Nicole was one-and-a-half years old, she drew a picture of a daisy while coloring with her mother. Tish added a guitar neck and headstock to the picture, later developing the design and taking it to her husband, Schecter Guitar Research President Michael Ciravolo. From that first Daisy Rock model, the company has expanded to offer a wide variety of instruments ranging from acoustic and electric guitars to basses, spanning entry-level models on up to musician’s favorites seen on stages throughout the world.

Designed for anyone that appreciates a guitar made for smaller hands, the Pixie acoustic guitar is smooth-playing and sounds great. With an oval back and a thin mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, it is an extremely comfortable instrument. A spruce top gives a full range of tonality and Grover tuners make it easy for a beginner to stay in tune.

Whether she knows the lyrics to Aldous Snow’s "African Child" or not, Natalie Morales may not be invited to play the "Today" show plaza quite yet - but along with Savannah Guthrie, Natalie does demonstrate how an adult can have fun learning a new instrument without too much time or difficulty.
