Solid, responsive, and strong enough for the average player. This must be the best value for money. Sturdy baseplate and clamp. Will last years under normal conditions. Probably not enough for the "animals" out there, but that's why there are other pedals. Based on the basic quality, I'd assume DW made their various series at levels of weight, yet without compromsing quality or features at each price point. This is not a student/beginner pedal, but at the price you'd be forgiven for thinking so. Unless you simply need more hardware underfoot, this pedal is a perfectly balanced, fast and smooth part of your kit. Nothing to worry about. Sort of like a old Camco/Tama in feel only without the wobbles/creaks/squeaks. Highly recommend!
Just bought this pedal at my local Guitar Center and all I can say is WOW! This pedal has great speed, control, and a very nice overall feel. I love the notch where the beater goes so it doesn't move from left to right, I had a big problem with that with my last drum pedal. And for people who aren't sure how to adjust the tension (was beating my head against the wall until I finally figured it out, thought I might as well share it with the general public!), when you're looking at the spring on the side of the pedal you'll see two bolts. Loosen the top bolt a little up (adjust it in slow increments so you can get the tension that fits your play style) and then gently push down on the top spring. After doing raise the bottom bolt to the top of the screw that you've just exposed, this works for lowering and tightening the tension spring. Then tighten the top bolt so it's snug against the bar that separates the bottom and lower bolts. Just remember to do it slowly so you can get the perfect feel, this is a great pedal for the price and would recommend this to anyone with out a shadow of a doubt!
DW 2000 pedals.......not THE greatest pedals you can buy, but they DEFINETLY get the job done :D .....i bought the DW 2002 (double bass pedal) and they can go preeeeeeetty fast with practice and technique.... as for the single bass pedal, they are amazing.. nice control, speed, and feel to it.. a must buy on a budget [:
