Adds A Great Look

Comments about DR Strings Red Devils Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have used the DR brand coated strings in all their colors except the green. The Red Devils and Black Beauties are the best looking. It really gives the guitar a nice look. But the real purpose of coated strings is to supposedly get longer life out of a set of strings. The DRs are about 3 times the cost of a non-coated set of strings. I think I can say you do get 3 times the life out of these strings BUT if you DO NOT LIKE changing strings, then this is the way to go. The amount of time saved from changing strings and the cool look you get is worth any difference in price over non-coated strings. As far as playability goes, you need to buy a set and experiment for yourself. I found that acoustically they sound good and are very playable but that is all personal opinion. Go ahead and buy some and experiment. I did notice that in the pick/strum area of the strings, the coating wore off pretty quickly. This was a bit of a bummer but it did not affect sound or playability. I am pretty much a finger style player so I suspect pick players would grind down the coating even faster. Overall, these strings really give a sharp look to your guitar and I think they are worth the money.
