Comments about DR Strings Rare Phosphor Bronze Medium Heavy Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Replaced strings that came on the guitar and the tone was noticeably improved. This also provided an opportunity to adjust the bridge. Not sure if the bridge adjustment or the strings or both improved the finger action.

Comments about DR Strings Rare Phosphor Bronze Medium Heavy Acoustic Guitar Strings:

DR RARE 13s are simply a great set of strings. There's a reason pros and guitarists with a lot of experience like these strings. If you're looking for superior warmth and projection, extremely good balance from string to string, and consistent tone from the time you put them on to a time a lot later when you decide to change them, these are it. I'm a long time player in many acoustic formats, and love these for rhythm or lead work in a bluegrass format, and for solo acoustic fingerstyle work. They make a rosewood dreadnought ring clearly without any "tinny" overtone, and absolutely bring all the best out of a mahogany dreadnought. String tension is very comfortable and provides for a lot of sustain.

I also use Martin SP mediums, D'Addario EJ17s and the new NB1356 Nickel Bronze strings. I hate coated strings of any kind! A little variety is a good thing, and RARE 13s occupy the fretboard space on my D-18 Golden Era pretty much all the time these days. If your acoustic is well balanced already and you want a great sounding strings that will sound great out of the package, hold intonation and tone for a long time, is extremely well balanced, and feels great under your fingers, this is the set for you!

        Great Strings

Comments about DR Strings Rare Phosphor Bronze Medium Heavy Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I bought these strings because I wanted to see if there were any affordable strings that were noticeably better than the cheap D'Addario sets that I was buying, and these certainly fit the bill. At first, they were pretty bright, but once broken in they were nice and warm while still retaining great clarity and definition. Even after many hours of use, they still sound and feel just as good or even better than a set of overpriced Elixirs. I definitely recommend these to any player as they are affordale high-quality strings.

        Amazing Strings

Comments about DR Strings Rare Phosphor Bronze Medium Heavy Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I wanted a cheap guitar so i bought the epiphone dr-100 off here. i replaced the saddle, bridge pins ,and nut with some tusq material that made a big difference. after trying about 5 different sets of strings i decided to give these a shot. NOTHING improved the sound of my guitar like these did. more sustain, bright, full sound, deep lows...just overall amazing. i highly recommend these.

        Waste of metal

        By Neil Old

        from Rochester, NY

Comments about DR Strings Rare Phosphor Bronze Medium Heavy Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I've tried these strings on all 3 of my acoustics. They sound very warm and clear at first but the tone deteriorates rapidly and the action gets progressively stiffer and tinny sounding as they stretch, which seems counter-intuitive I know but that has been my experience. I really wanted to give them a chance due to the claim that they were full sounding and exceptionally flexible ( I've tried the light gauge also and they are way TOO flexible and REALLY tinny)I've tried many different brands of strings and always come back to Martin Marquis or Acoustic SP light gauge, at least for my acoustic guitars. (I've tried the DR pure blues for my strat and tele and have no complaints so far).

        Great Acoustic Strings!

        By Greg Graf

        from Indy

Comments about DR Strings Rare Phosphor Bronze Medium Heavy Acoustic Guitar Strings:

These strings are outstanding! They sound very rich and full. DR uses a special process to wind the string at the tension it will be on your guitar. Making the wrap tighter.
