Overview

Lo-Rider stainless steel bass strings from DR are roundwound and constructed upon a hexagonal core. Lo-Riders provide more depth of tone and are a bit stiffer than Hi-Beams. Bass players who are into slapping, popping, and tapping will love the high end and depth of Lo-Riders. The slight bit of stiffness makes these strings very accurate when playing harmonics. Great consistency and great string-to-string balance are DR hallmarks. Fits bass scale lengths up to 37-3/4".

    Tone Monsters

    By Terence

Comments about DR Strings Lo Rider MH5-45 Medium Stainless Steel 5-String Bass Strings .125 Low B:

I actually got introduced to DR Low Riders from a salesperson in Guitar Center. Now, I use them on my Fender Jazz, Ibanez and Yamaha basses. I'm looking for the 6 string version. They never lose tone and they're durable. I like the sound of Elixer, but they're expensive and not as durable.

    I love these strings!

Comments about DR Strings Lo Rider MH5-45 Medium Stainless Steel 5-String Bass Strings .125 Low B:

I am not noticing the extra stiffness described, but I couldn't help but notice the sound. The description of a piano tone is right on point, the drummer says that the tone punched through and the sound man had to turn down the gain to keep from clipping. these are the brightest stings I have ever used, but it is a brightness that is added to the sound spectrum without sacrificing the lows. I can't imagine using any others from here on.

Comments about DR Strings Lo Rider MH5-45 Medium Stainless Steel 5-String Bass Strings .125 Low B:

I love these strings. The best strings I found for my Fender Jazz. I don't change strings as often as I should because these hold up wonderfully.

    GOOD & BAD

    By jason davis

Comments about DR Strings Lo Rider MH5-45 Medium Stainless Steel 5-String Bass Strings .125 Low B:

I can say the DR strings are made well & give great even tone. The only problem is there NOT taper wound. I cant believe in this day & age they make a low B without a taper. Too bad I have 4 sets of strings I cant use now.

    Terrible strings...

    By bassystefan

    from Boston, MA

Comments about DR Strings Lo Rider MH5-45 Medium Stainless Steel 5-String Bass Strings .125 Low B:

Bought a set of these strings and they went dead on me about 5 days after putting them on... Called up DR strings and told them how dissappointed I was and they told me that they'd send a new set. Granted, that's great customer service, but the new strings they sent me went dull just as fast. I've been playing bass for almost 8 years and these are the worst strings I've ever played :(

    DR Lowriders

    By nic S.

    from middletown OH

Comments about DR Strings Lo Rider MH5-45 Medium Stainless Steel 5-String Bass Strings .125 Low B:

I've tested nearly every string on the market and without a doubt love DR lowriders above all others. I'm a big fan of steel strings, and DR's compression winding really packs a lot of life into each string. They are stiff, rigid, and can hold up to abuse. I still haven't broke one. The tone is great, a really punctual sound, and perfect for slap playing, but sound great all around. For anyone who wants steel strings, go wit these!
