EXP Coated Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings provide longer life and increased durability coupled with the brightness, clarity and sensitivity you've come to expect from D'Addario strings. Here is how it works: An ultra-fine layer of EXP coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. And since the EXP coating is cross-linked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings sound fresh and bright. New-string tone lasts 3 to 4 times longer than traditional guitar strings.
D'Addario is the world's largest manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. Many top guitarists won't play any other brand. Regardless of your playing style, D'Addario has a set that's right for you.

Every bit as good as the EJ17's

    By Mack Lester

    from Los Angeles, Ca

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

It's a coated string that sounds just as good as the non-coated counterpart! They save money because they last, they don't feel waxy or anything. Great playability and the sound is fantastic. If you love the EJ17's that d'addario puts out, you'll love the EXP17's. Same string same feel lasts 3 times longer!

    Just Buy Elixers...

    By Josh Scott

    from Greensboro NC

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I decided to try some different strings on my Takamine just to see how they sounded. I have heard good reviews of these strings, plus they are a few dollars cheaper than Elixers. They sounded very bright and warm for about a week and a half, but after that, they became very dull and muffled. They don't stay in tune very well either. I never had this problem with Elixer phosphor-bronze nanoweb coated strings. The un-coated D'Addarios (which are half the price) sound a hundred times better than these. I actually can't wait to change them. So if you're considering these strings, save your money by purchasing un-coated D'Addarios or spend a few dollars more for Elixers.

    Thay work for me

    By Peter

    from Royalston Ma

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

EXP17s have a unique sound that I didn't like at first, but they grew on me, and they grew and grew and grew..... I was using Nanoweb meds on a Guild Gad 40ce and very happy with them but I'm switching to 17s. There different, like going from a piano to a harpsichord kind of a harsh sound that works great.

    Great Strings!

    By Steve

    from Flanders, NJ

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have tried other brands of strings on my Guild D55 but always seem to return to the D'Addario EXP's! They seem to make the guitar sound cleaner and brighter. These strings were the same type that came on my Guild fom the factory. I'm not sure why I ever changed brands! I know I won't again. These strings are also reasonably priced. So why pay more?

The Warmth and Brilliance is Amazing!!!!

    By Jared L.

    from North Carolina

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

The warmth and brilliance that these Phosphor Bronze strings produce has to be one of the best if not the best. The Lows are bold and definite and the Highs are Crisp and Clean. Their resilience is as well one of the best. With these strings there is no need to buy in bulk because they last so long.

Rich sound without destroying your fingers!

    By KateDS

    from New York, NY

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I recently re-strung my guitar with the D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings after playing with its original EXP16 Lights. I was surprised at what a difference I heard in tone, though they didn't seem any harder to play than the Lights (or than nylon strings, actually). I can't tell you exactly what "coated phosphor bronze" does for sound, but you'd be hard-pressed to find another set of medium strings that sound as good.
