An ultrafine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the 80/20 bronze wrap wire, then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. They offer natural round wound feel and will sound fresh and bright 3 to 4 times longer than traditional guitar strings.
80/20 bronze alloy retains flexibility as well as brilliant tone for many hours of hard play. Computer-controlled wrapping around a hex core ensures consistency and extends life.

I have read some of the other reviews about these strings. Funny I have been using D'Addario EXP10'S on my guitars for over 20 years and never had a problem. Know I went to D'Addario EXP13's this last month and had no problems. I don't understand guy's! I just want to say I believe these are great strings and a great string company. They never done me wrong. I use D'Addario EXP36 on my 12 string and again they are great strings!! I use the 80/20 for that deep and bright sound, and I get it!! Long lasting, great look, and above all durable string!! I love the feel on my fingers when I play up & down the neck!! I tell my students to use them and they give great reviews!! I think you should check the tuners on your guitars! Please, I am trying to be helpful!
Most Bang for the Buck, over a year on both the twelve and six string, kept in ATA cases never out of tune, no corrosion to make'em go dead. Did have aproblem breaking the G string though after a new nut was installed not a problem now. I use custom lights both finger pickin and pick bang'em hard, bang'em soft they never fail me. I went through tons of Martins which I really like but after a month they had to be changed. For me D'Addrios are as close to lifetime as I can tell...........well at least a whole year for sure. 0.0328493150684932 Cents per day not bad. I have used them for over ten years, the sound has all ways been true and there.
I just bought these to try out for the first time. I am a moderately strumming player. My G string broke 2 weeks after they were on. My friend had also recently put some on and broke a string very shortly after they we put on as well. I think elixir strings have more stregnth and last longer before breaking. I was dissapointed because now I have to replace to whole set, as they do not sell single strings for EXP series.
I used to work at guitar center and I tried a whole bunch of strings while i was there. I always had trouble finding strings I actually enjoyed playing so I just got whatever I felt like getting at the time (usually phosphor bronze) and just hoped for a good sound and feel. I got tired of not enjoying my acoustic's sound so I went for some cheap 80/20 strings and WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE! This was the sound i was hearing in my head and wondered why it took me so long to figure this out. Since then I always looked for the best 80/20 strings i could find as far as sound, feel, and durability. So I decided to give the EXP's a try and these were the one's for me hands down for the price, feel, sound, and they last forever!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, there are some great phosphor bronze strings out there but it's not the sound for me. So, if you want a big, strong, full sound with great protection from grime and a great feel these are very good high quality strings for a very reasonable price!
About a year ago I went on a quest to find the best strings possible. These strings took the blue ribbon. Maybe not the best for metal players but who plays metal on a an acoustic??? For everything else these strings sound great, have a nice full bright sound, last a long time, and aren't really all that expensive. Once you play a guitar with these strings on it you will see that they are very comfortable to play on... These are the only things I buy for my acoustics now.
