The Sigmund 2 provides an incredible degree of sound-shaping freedom for serious musicians. This powerful plug-in consists of four discrete delay units, each with independent parameters that give you the freedom to craft your ideal tone. With Sigmund 2, the whole is far greater than the sum of its parts—each delay line has built-in modules like filters and overdrives that operate independently from the feedback loop. The delay lines themselves can also be combined in several ways for even more versatility.

Four Independent Delay Lines

With Sigmund 2, each delay line is completely alias-free so the only sonic colorations you'll hear are the ones you intentionally create. The signal path is designed for zero compromise, with sound quality so pristine you can use even the smallest delay times—down to one-tenth of a millisecond—with no artifacts. A single delay line provides not just traditional delay and echo but also chorus and flanger effects using shorter times. Subtle modulation lets you delicately shape tone and add warmth reminiscent of analog delays.

Stereo Spatialization

Sigmund 2's available stereo options expand its functionality to add a spatializer effect. Applying delays in different stereo modes (M/S or L/R) and adding phase shifts between channels creates an immersive sense of space. You can really widen your sound and place elements precisely within the stereo field.

Overdrive and Multimode Filter

The overdrive module offers many ways to shape your tone. With four delay lines, you can achieve complex multi-band distortion and dynamic effects. A musical filter works either inside or outside the feedback loop. Use it outside to remove unwanted frequencies or inside to create a fading sound impression. Get creative using it on multiple lines to make any filter effect you want, like wah-wah, vowel or phaser.

Modulation and Routing

The modulation section lets you control how much the modulators affect filter cutoff, in-loop delay time and delay line volume, allowing for chorus, flanger, phaser, wah-wah, tremolo and pan effects. Sigmund 2's four delay lines can interconnect in nearly every way. Choose from nine routing topologies to access new dimensions of sound. Reconfigure parallel delays to cascaded serial delays instantly with a click. For convenience, each delay line's output combines in an internal mixer for seamless algorithm transitions and efficient workflow.
