The smooth feel of nylon in a durable titanium string from D'Addario.

D'Addario EJ87B titanium ukulele strings are the perfect strings for your baritone ukulele. The 3rd and 4th string are a silver-plated copper wound on nylon complimented by a 1st and 2nd string which are made from D'Addario's bright sounding titanium material. This set is optimized for use with standard DGBE tuning. D'Addario titanium ukulele strings are crafted from a dense monofilament material that has an attractive, translucent purple hue and a polished, smooth feel similar to nylon. This unique material is particularly beneficial to ukuleles due to its slightly brighter tone and increased projection, resulting in more volume, clarity and dynamics.

Made in the USA for the highest quality and performance.

Gauges: Titanium .028-.033 Silver Plated Copper .030W-.035W

  • Fun Strings for the Baritone Ukulele

As reviewed by John on 11/20/2014

I've had a couple of weeks with these strings now. They sound delightful - clear bell-like qualities in voice. The wound strings seem far more resilient than the original factory strings and even the classical guitar strings that I had used as a temporary replacement while I awaited the arrival of these new replacements. I do play rather aggressively on the ukulele - finger-picked guitar and bluegrass banjo being my primary influences - under such treatment, I still find that I have to re-tune about every thirty-minutes of playing. Forgive me, but being a neophyte to nylon-based strings, I don't know whether this is typical and whether or not the strings will reach a point of relative stability when such re-tuning becomes less frequent. If you like the feel of classical guitar strings, these strings will be much to your liking. Feeling a little larger in diameter than the factory ukulele strings, and a little smaller in diameter than the classical strings I had temporarily used - but the texture and feel of the strings shares more in common with the classical strings than with the factory ukulele strings. I have thus far only played them with a mic for amplification purposes. I would wish for a little more projection than my solid-wood mahogany baritone ukulele seems capable of wringing from them. But as a dreadnought guitar and banjo picker, I probably expect far too much from such an unamplified instrument. Overall, and especially for the low price, I am very happy with these strings.
