Comments about Carl Fischer The Abc's of Viola for the Absolute Beginner - Book 1 (Book/CD):
I bought this along with The Essential Elements for Strings-Viola. I find the EE information and illustrations to be much more concise and logically laid out. This book, while ok, really requires that you have an instructor to fill in a great deal of the gaps and the illustrations (unlike The Essential Elements book) does not really help you to visualize how the placement of your fingers on the strings should be. It's great as supplemental material but I would not rely solely on this book.
