Comments about Breedlove Revival Black Magic D/SMe Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I had been playing a Larivee D03, which is an excellent guitar, but the tone and looks had lost their appeal to me, so much so that I had gravitated to only playing electric guitar. I happened to see this Breedlove at GC and I found that it was just what I was looking for. It's an elegant looking guitar with a traditional gloss finish and the black color, ivory bindings, and abalone inlay make it acutally fairly colorful. But it was the tone that really sealed the deal for me. Beautiful, bright ringing tone on the treble, plenty of bass, but not overpowering. Well suited for either rhythm chords or finger style. I played almost every guitar in the store and did not find one that I liked better, including a 3000 dollar hummingbird. The tuner and the electronics are first rate as well. Only minor drawback was the action was too high. A set up for 85 dollars took care of that. I don't think you can go wrong with this guitar.
