This is amazing!!!!! I bought this over 6 months ago, and it is still makes godly sounds, and is built like a tank (figures, it's Boss brand). I use this to play the heaviest metal, or even general rock/alternative like Muse, and even Green Day. This pedal is versatile too, and VERY loud if you want it to be. Go out and get one if you play anything rock/alternative or metal. Just GO FOR IT :D Make sure to get the cable to plug it into the wall (like most all pedals, it burns through 9volts fast; every 5 hours or so of playtime). A Great buy, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I arnt to gc to test out pedals, this being my number 1 in mind. I first tested the metal zone since the guy at gc said its better. I tried both out and the metalcore was just missing something, and the metalzone seemed perfect. I sat there testing both over and over messing with all the knobs and got the metalzone to get an even better distortion. I was glad to figure out the metalzone will be my choice. But as I walked out I heard a guy playong a bunch of metal rifts and he was using a hardwire pedal. I went and tested it out to find that its exactly what I was looking for. A lot of people say metalcore and others say metalzone, its all your opinion, but if your looking for something that you can really change distortion check out the hardwire tl2. If your not sure like I was go to gc and see what's best for you

Pedal to the Metal

By DemonChild86

from Phoenix, AZ.

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

This is an excellent distortion pedal that gives exactly what it promises. I gave the features 4 merely because it is a single effect pedal. If you are looking for a heavy crunching metal distortion, this is the best.

crushing

By Ibanez-or-Death

from tiskilwa, IL

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

its a solid pedal. For starters, my gear is an Ibanez GAX 70, all stock hardware, running through an old Danelectro 75 watt tube amp. I can get Pantera, Sepultura, Iron Maiden, etc. tones out of it and love it. It takes some tweaking and a little patience to see how you like it to sound. For the ones complaining about not enough treble, try easing back on the "Low" and leaving the "High" about half way, more or less to your taste and how dirty you want it to get. Harmonics scream like no other pedal I've used. I love the chunk I get out of it. I've learned something from buying this pedal, If you don't go Boss, its your big loss.

sick tones

By rockwannabe

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

I, like someone else said, was in to buy another Boss dist pedal and was introducced to this bad boy, which was not even on the rack yet. this is insanely loud, i havent gotten it past 1/4 the level yet and it still tears the posters off my walls. You can get anything from a sweet classic metallica sound to a nu-metal death thrash sound. Oh, and throw on a little digi delay and it is insane

A Metalist's Dream

By Jake

from Pleasanton, CA

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

This pedal is the reigning king of all metal effects! After getting my first real amp, I decided that the distortion built into my amp was of a very low grade. I took a trip to my closest GC and plugged a decent guitar into every single distortion pedal they had. I was choosing between the metal core and metal zone, which I chose the metal core. The level, high, low, and distortion knobs make this a very versatile distortion pedal. This is perfect for getting that mega crunch from the low strings, yet sharpness and great pinch harmonics for soloing. I love fooling around with it getting the most roaring, heavy tones imaginable, yet having the ability to create my own sound. I get sounds from old school rock to today's metal core. Plus the shell looks like it could survive an airplane crash. Pick this pedal up and break the distortion barrier!!!

INSANE

By Danny Axxe

from monroe, oh

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

By far the best distortion pedal on the market. I compared it with several others, including the death metal pedal, metal zone, and hardwire metal distortion pedals, and it out-competed all of them by a long shot. It's the most heavy, distorted, edgy sounding pedal i've ever heard, which is perfect if you want a high gain, high power distortion. I play in a melodic death metal band and this pedal is perfect for it. it can produce jazzier overdriven sounds too, and is all around a versatile pedal. 10/10

Cool, But Could Use A Touch of Work

By HAKU__Yuugen_no_Hito

from San Jose, CA

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

Well there's not much to say about this pedal. It's pretty good, I'll give it that. It throws out some pretty mean in-your-face distortion, but what it lacks is an EQ. I always like to play around with my EQ. But if you're ok with a straight tone, then this is the way to go, but if you more of a "technical, I-need-to-play-with-the-EQ" kinda person, the Metal Zone pedal is better

Meh....

By Brain Dead GenXer

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

The distortion on this is of good quality. The lack of some form of secondary eq is a major setback. I just could not get enough treble sound *highs* out of it. If you are looking for a decent distortion pedal, give it a listen. Could be better though.

MT-2 compared to ML-2

By Conner

from Redmond, Washington

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

The ML-2 (Metal Core) sounds really good, but it doesnt have as many parameters as the MT-2 The MT-2 has twice as many adjustments as the ML-2, but is older. try combining the OS-2 (Overdrive/Distortion) with the MT-2 if you want and easy metal tone fixer. Unfortunetally if you want the adjustments fot the ML-2 get the boss equalizer pedal. They both sond great but the MT-2 is a bit nicer because you can really tune it to your settings

POSSIBLY THE BEST!

By Ray Cooper

Comments about Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal:

This has to be possibly the best distortion pedal I have ever used in my career. Sleek design, easy to get the screeching metal sound I look for. An excellent buy.
