I owned this pedal for a short time, having purchased it based off of reviews. The truth is, this pedal has no tonal qualities whatsoever. I own a Les Paul traditional pro, and plugged into this pedal i couldn't have told the difference between my Gibson and my friends 150 dollar agile. If your trying to mimic some of the great metal guitarists, this is not how they get their tone! If you talk to some newb guitarist who went out and bought a 200 dollar dean V or a warlock because it looked cool, and plugs into a crate solid state, then yeah, hes going to love this pedal. If your looking for professional metal tone, then look elsewhere.
I bought this pedal used 2 years ago and since then i have used it for recording, gigs, and writing music. this pedal still has the best distortion out of every pedal i've tried. Its great for all types of rock and metal because it has so many different sounds waiting to be used, and it is great for its price.
The BOSS Metal Zone MT-2 is an amzing ditortion pedal for anyone wanting to acheive a great sound. I used a Fender FM 210R 2x10" 65 Watt Guitar Combo Amp and i used my Fender 56 Strat NOS Electric Guitar with the pedal. I got a lot of sounds like British rock, also heavey metal and grunge ( Nirvana,Alice in Chains) All togeter this pedal is one of the greatest products on the market.
