This head is well worth it. The coating hasn't faded and chipped yet on mine. You should get this one if your confused. It is the best I've played on so far. I have used remo, evans, and a few other brands. this has been my favorite so far. I'm sure anyone who plays on this will recommend it for you.
I've used both Remo and Evans heads, and Aquarian heads are the most consistant right out of the box. The Texture Coating they use doesn't chip or flake off like most other coated heads, and this makes them last much longer. They sound great tuned down for rock and funk, and they sing when tuned higher for jazz.
I love the way this head sounds on my snare and I have a stock snare. Gets rid of just the right amount of overtones, not too much to choke it. Also it does not chip and is very durable. Try it out and you may never look back!
