I built a small trap kit that I use to play rap and electronica beats. I wanted an acoustic kit instead of electric. I picked up this extra fluffy fleece mallet and attached it to an inverted foot pedal to play on the underside of a floor tom. It sounds like an acoustic 808! I love it!

I picked these up for a small trap kit I keep in a small room. These rods are perfect for playing at a low volume. I've used plenty of wooden rods over the years. No matter how lightly I try to play, the wooden rods still break. Even the ones with the protective plastic outer layer. These, however, are PERFECT! These babies are well balanced, sound great, and I expect they will last forever. The only real con is the handle isn't very comforable. But I wrapped some grip trap around them and I couldn't ask for a better feeling and better performing rod. I love them and highly recommend them to any drummer who is performing in a confined area at a low volume. It's perfect for taprooms, bedrooms, acoustic situations, etc. A+
